thought this as a gift but worked as expected. my nephew loved it. it is been a year now he is 5 and it is still running so I would say definitely worth the money.
I love Mario Kart since childhood. I bought this for rc collection and I love the details on it just like from the game. It is also larger than I expected. But mine didn't always connect with the remote so I have to keep turning it off and on a few times. The wheels never goes straight even if I set the steering trimmer on the bottom of the quad. When there is a fresh battery installed or charged ones, it does go fast but when the quad turns at full speed, it always stumbles and rolls over. It may need some weight on it to make it stay on ground at faster speeds. Overall, still great looking Mario Kart 8 quad.
It looks amazing and our son loves it. He is obsessed with Mario at this time and also with cars. Best of both worlds. That being said, we bout our daughter a $20 toy remote care which operates significantly better, The tire radius is so large that it hits the body when turning and it looks like the thing is stalling out like someone who doesn't know how to drive a stick shift. Its so top heavy that if you reverse it then put it in forward it falls over, turn to fast, it falls over, hit a bump...you get the idea. So my son has learned drive straight and never leave the hallway or he has to go get him and set him upright, The batteries are in the tail lights and requires a screw on each side. It takes 4 AAA, yes that's right AAA, known for low power carrying ability, so I bought a super powered recharger so he could play with it longer than what the book says normal AAA's last...15 minutes. The "included batteries" do not recharge. However the rechargeable batteries that I use last about 1 hour of operation, which is not bad at all. Definitely recommend purchasing up on the batteries. The overall construction is pretty solid so far. But I bought the product care plan, which if you don't already know are pretty awesome,. He WILL break it in the next 2 years via abuse, and they just give you back your money when it does, that's awesome. Overall though if your child is obsessed with Mario and cars, not a bad deal when compared to the one that hovers for $100, that was out of my price range. But if you just want a remote control car, spend your money elsewhere, get the charger included and a car that doesn't flip over when you look at it wrong.
Does what it says
