If I was on a deserted island and needed to bring one calculator with me, it would be the Casio FX-300ES Plus. It has gone with my students from elementary school all the way to college. It has helped me teach fractions with a natural math display. My students learn math using patterns. I used to have to teach rules and never have the students understand or make connections, because the tools I used did not support thinking in terms of patterns. With my 300ES students can see patterns from a series of answers and make their own connections. So adding fractions becomes an exercise in patterns and not just rules. Simplifying square roots is another great discovery. The flexibility and size of the display allows for multiple lines of input and an output that does not stress their eyes and looks like it does in a textbook. It also has all the functions I need as my students progress through their math classes.
As a math instructor, this is the calculator I recommend for my students. It is user friendly, easily goes between fractions and decimal forms of answers, has features such as divide and find the remainder, etc that students will need in a variety of situations. Our students who have this calculator are excited about learning how to use the many different features. I have many calculators, but this is the one that I want at home, at school, and in my purse. This is a new model, and while the old model was good, the new model has some new features that make it ideal. My students are buying an extra calculator for their children, who are also in school. They are excited about showing their children all of the cool features.
No issues, easy to operate
This calculator is approved for the JAA/EASA ATPL theory exams, just what I needed. Thanks
Very good to use
Great service and price on site-to-store. I just wish person in Camera dept. wouldn't treat you like you are trying to steal something when you go to pick-up. I had ID and printout of paid invoice and still was hassled. Otherwise a great experience.
inexpensive. Easy enough to use.
My son likes this calculator very much. His old one is a Texas Instrument is also a good one but the battery did not last long. Hopefully, this one will.
Cool
Good value of money (~$10.0) for personal scientific computations. My rating 4/5 is based on user-friendliness, display and outlook. But, my experience is based on 2 weeks of use. If it runs for 2-3 years, its a 5/5 product.
