I was very impressed with the design and operation of this calculator. This is a great scientific calculator at a reasonable price. This unit is very easy to use. This calculator has a nice streamlined design. I recall using one of the TI calculators which was difficult to figure out and was bulky to carry along with me when I had classes. This calculator has the same functions as the TI scientific calculator although it's more budget friendly. There are several functions which can be used for basic math as well as more advanced features for trigonometry, geometry, common logarithms, statistics and exponential functions. This calculator has all the functions needed by elementary school students through high school. This would work well when studying for SAT/ACT testing. The calculator comes in a protective case, is easy to carry, and has battery and solar operation. The buttons are a good size for all fingers and are easy-to-read. The display is to read. I tested a few calculations, including some complex equations, and they were all accurate. FYI there is an S<->D button to easily switch from standard form for fraction results to decimals results. This calculator does exactly what it says it does.
I decided to acquire this Scientific Calculator because my nephew just graduated from high school and I think it a good incentive to him for his future endeavor- college. I have a Casio scientific calculator myself and it is really easy to use and very helpful. This calculator has so many features that it is hard to explain all of them. First, you can enter the expression as it is no the text book, it help a lot if you are not comfortable with math. It is so permitted on various test, such as SAT, AP, NMSQT and others. You can use in various courses at college like General Math, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Science and Biology. This calculator is solar powered and has a back up battery. It also storage the previous answers. It s a complete tool for any student that want to succeed in his or her studies in Math and its ramifications. Besides that Casio is know for the durability and reliability of their products. My father has a small calculator for more than forty years and it is still working. It comes with a had cover so it will be protected inside a back pack and the material this one is made- plastic is is really good quality.
I really wish I had had one of these calculators when I was in school, but alas, my son alone will be the one enjoying this. I must say I do love the color. With the inside of a backpack that's black, having this as a bright color helps it stand out so that it is easier to find. Obviously first use was easy, it's solar powered, so it's already on and working. Now, that being said, like any calculator, you do not want to give it to your kid on the day of the test. It does take some getting used to in order to figure out how all of the buttons and functions work. My son loves math, and this calculator is a great choice. Being able to leave it in function form is still just a big wow from me. I definitely recommend.
I have purchased Casio calculators for my daughters in the past. Both of my girls are in honors math classes, Algebra and Geometry and my 15 year old was able to use this calculator for her honors Algebra class. She told me that this calculator makes finding exponents much easier than her other calculator. This calculator is also on the list for her school to use. The only other thing that I would like for this calculator to have would be graphing. If it was able to graph it will be a great all in one calculator.
This is a great calculator. It can be used to do simple operations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing all the way to performing complex tasks such as fraction calculations, trigonometry and statistics. It runs on solar power but does have a battery back up. The screen is a good size and the numbers that appear on the screen are quite large. The buttons that you push are a good size as well, I can touch one without my finger overlapping and touching more than one. This calculator also has 1 independent memory and it comes with a hard case that slides over the front of it to keep is safe.
I love this calculator. I'm the coolest ever for having my pink Casio calculator (unlike in jr high when toting a scientific calculator did not up my cool factor). It has great features, is easy to hold and the buttons are a bit bigger (nice for either younger users or folks like me who refuse to wear readers).
This is a great calculator that is affordable. It has tons of features that will help students complete many different math functions. It is easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow. I love the color. It is solar powered with a battery backup. The screen is easy to read. I'd recommend this calculator to anybody but especially high school students.
This is a great scientific calculator for students. As an instructor who teaches computing courses which require mathematical computations to be carried out, I find this calculator to be most useful and definitely recommend this to students. It allows you to type in your mathematical equations directly (as seen on the textbooks) and makes the work so much easier.
This Casio fx-300ES PLUS-BU calculator is a winner. This calculator can be used for a long list of math courses. It says it can even be used for biology. I really like that this calculator informed me that it can be used on several different standardized tests. It is great to know you will be allowed to use this calculator when taking AP, SAT, SAT Subject, PSAT/NMSQT, and ACT. The lettering on the keys are nice and big. This is very appealing to me, because I have very bad eyesight. The only problem I have is that I have problems seeing all the secondary function lettering. Those need to be in a different, much brighter color. This calculator has solar plus with battery backup. Which means it will work from solar power. This calculator also has a slide top cover to protect it while it is in your backpack. When the calculator is being used the screen is very easy to see. The calculator comes with instructions, but it is very easy to use. I was able to get the calculator up and running in a matter of seconds. I have one daughter in the seventh grade and two daughters in their second year of college. Everyone of them can use this calculator with their level of math courses. This is a very nice calculator.
The Casio fx300+-Pk is a nice little calculator. It offers more than a standard calculator such as a cell phone offers. Let's face it, most middle schoolers (and some younger) have cell phones. It is definitely better for school calculations. It is not so complicated that it ends up with a higher end price tag. This calculator offers lots of functions such as List-Based Statistics, and Trigonometric Functions. It is permitted on AP, SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, and ACT. There you go. I am not sure that I would recommend this calculator for middle school students, per say though, if they have never used an advanced calculator before. Make sure to practice with it first before sending in a wrong answer. The screen is small so this might be a factor for some. The functions don't always seem to work right. If you do anything too advanced the answers don't seem to be right such as the order gets messed up sometimes. A bit of research showed me others having the same problem, but it don't seem to be wide spread. Again practice each function until you are sure you are using the buttons correctly. Over all a nice inexpensive calculator to begin with. The color is an eye-popping pink for those that love to be bold. Good for when my granddaughter visits. My picture is the back of the package so that you can see the functions.
