This is a reliable calculator that my daughter is using in middle school. I imagine it will still be very useful all the way through high school and possibly college courses. It has advanced functions, fractions, statistical calculations, permutation, trigonometric functions etc. It is a good size, has solid buttons and a closing hard slide-on case, which allows you to take it with you in a backpack or purse without being worried that it will randomly turn on.
I haven't been able to use this for school or work yet but so far I think it's great. My favorite part about the calculator is when you type, it shows the equation entered and the answer at the same time! It makes it easier to review for mistakes. The hard cover conveniently flips over and slides onto the back of the calculator, which is nice because it'll help keep me from losing it. There are a lot of buttons I am unfamiliar with but I know if you're a sailor, this would certainly come in handy with SIN, COS, TAN! There's an instruction booklet with information about all the features of this great calculator. It'll definitely come in handy for my son's middle school math.
Two things are great about this calculator, the price and the power source. It is solar-powered and cost less than $20. It has a 2 line display and is sufficient for most math and science class use, except when graphing is needed. It does not display graphs. It is an approved device for the SAT and the ACT tests. It's very comfortable to hold, and the number keys are larger and easier to see than most. Another thing I like is that it has a hard shell slide-on case cover. Overall, it's a great deal for the price!
Affordable and good quality.
The Casio scientific calculator is perfect for my daughter starting high school this year. It does everything the more expensive one do at a fraction of the cost. It has letters which come in handy in a host of math problems. It has so many interesting modes I haven't even seen half of what it does but for algebra it is awesome. Our Casio came with a protective case which is nice if your daughter throws everything like mine.
Nice, affordable scientific calculator.
It works just fine easy to use.
I use the calculator at home for business purposes. Small, light weight, easy to use. It's really important to me for my kids to be able complete math and problem solving without the use of google or cell phone (which seems obvious, but you'd be surprised) so I'm really happy to have this calculator in the house.
As a math teacher, I work with lots of different calculators every day. This calculator will get the job done, but I find the TI scientific calculators to be easier and more intuitive to use. Plus, almost every school uses TI. Skip this calculator, and go with Texas Instruments.
This is the most annoying calculator I've ever used. Neither my husband or I could even get it cleared to zero to try it out. Idk if it was “damaged” in delivery, or not. The packaging looked perfect, but it had a negative equation already logged into it and we could not get it cleared out. Once we got it to ZERO it was still -0. I would've thought it was me (operator error) if my husband didn't have the same issue with it. He uses scientific equations often in his occupation. His reply— don't bother. The calculator on your phone is fine.
