The finish is a little rough but you get three paddles for less than the price of what one would cost you in a sporting goods store! The paddles are wood also, the photo was of a plastic one came up when I purchased them, even though the description said wood.
The picture for this item is of a multi piece plastic paddle. Pay no attention to the picture provided. The description is correct. This is a set of 3 real wooden paddles. they are not super nice, but they are well worth the price. The wood seems good, the finish on them is not great, its rough in some places, but again for the money, they are fantastic. I just got them in my boat in case the motor dies.
I bought these paddles for Boy Scout Summer camp. They were perfect and the the boys had a blast canoeing around the lake. They really liked flipping the canoes and uprighting them in open water as part of the merit badge requiremets.
Purchased this paddle for occasional use on our canoes. I wanted a smaller one for shorter visitors to our home and did not want to put lots of money into it. I am pleased with this paddle, it is attractively constructed and finished in clear varnish. The paddle appears to be totally sealed from the water it will be used in... does not need to be sanded and additional varnish applied. Well pleased with the whole purchase process... prompt delivery, good price and a good enough product.
I purchased this paddle as an outdoor nautical decoration, but it is so substantial I'm sure it would be great when used for it's intended purpose! We were SO pleasantly surprised at the quality for the price. The finish is smooth, not rough as I had seen others comment, and the color is outstanding. I would highly recommend! In fact, we bought two more!
Great Buy. We are using them for wall decorations in a beach room. Planned to paint and distress them like the $100. pottery barn ones but these were so nice with multi colored wood grains that we may just leave them like they are. Better than expected for the price.
decent value for the price- not pretty, sprayed-on finish is positively awful...having said that, they were 1/3 the price of the next paddles up the product line. They are light, and they worked just fine on the lake trails. the finish issue can be easily fixed. or not.
I expected something cheap or a off brand, but when these paddles came I was pleasantly surprised. The paddles shipped to me were caviness brand featherlight series. They will do what I need them to do and they were a great price
paddle looked to be in good condition and would have been serviceable for a small john boat or v-hull, or canoe, but only ONE paddle was in the box. I returned and purchased elsewhere.
May be great paddles but too much hassle. I had my order delivered to the store. After a long wait to pick up my order I discovered there was only one paddle in the box. I asked if they would reorder and the answer was no, either I accept just one paddle or get a refund. I took the refund which was a slip saying a refund should be issued within 5 business days. Am debating to try again or just go elsewhere.
