Installed this on the exterior of my garage and it has been a life saver for friends and family that need access to my garage and house. It is super convenient for the kids to use as well when they come home from school by not having to keep up with a remote (that would inevitably get lost lol). The entire unit is solid, no play in the seems or the construction. The flip top is easy to open and stays open as long as you need it to while entering the code. Regarding the code the keypad is easy to see and is bright red when depressing the numbers. I have not seen any fading of the coded numbers preventing just anyone from looking at the worn out area and narrowing down the options in guessing my code. This item weathers well and the battery lasts forever. Understand it is outside so it will fade and discolor a little if in the direct sunlight etc but it has not affected the performance and doesn't look bad. In addition, periodically i have to push the enter button twice to gain access but I think that just my opener. I like it so much I purchased one for my driveway gate for the exact reasons as mentioned above. All in all this is an essential piece of equipment if you have a location with a garage door. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The remote door keypad offers great flexibility when forgetting the access remote. One can manually open the garage door with a simple number password. The door will only open when the correct code has been entered.
I enjoy the use of this product and the convenience that it offers. The installation process was delayed because on the written instruction sheet the steps were not as clear and thorough as the online directions as far as programming the keypad. After many fails with the written directions I decided to look online and it worked the first time. Other than that it’s a great product and works every time. I just received the Chamberlain wireless keypad today in the mail, opened the package looked at the installation instructions and ten minutes later it was installed, installation instructions are straight forward and easy to follow, instructions for adding, changing or deleting pin numbers are equally as easy, very pleased with the keypad [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This wireless keypad is an awesome addition to my garage door. I like the subtle touch of the flip up door staying up and out of the way when you open it. The neutral color blends in with my house. The lighted keypad works great at night. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Good product
I got this to supplement the button controller that came with my Chamberlain belt drive Opener. This was a great addition because it allows you to easily open your garage door without having to carry a controller with you. It is also great to allow other family members access to the garage by just giving them the access code. Setup and installation of the keypad was simple and it looks great on the garage exterior! The keypad illuminates once a button is pressed so a low or no light situation does not prevent you from being able to easily open your garage door. One of the features that I really like is that when the garage door is open, you can close the door with the keypad by just pressing the enter key instead of having to retype your access code. If, however, you would rather have to key in your access code to open and close your garage, you have that option as well. This is a great addition to my Chamberlain garage door opener! The keypad is pretty much like every other keypad I have seen. The only criticism I have is that the coding instructions included in the box were different than the instructions provided on the inside of the keypad cover. I could not code the keypad with the instructions included in the box. It did work with the instructions on the inside of the keypad cover. One suggestion I have is to make the outside cover so as to completely cover the box on the sides and bottom so that just the cover can be painted to match color of the surface to which it is mounted. Setup was very easy and I mounted it on the side of garage door entrance. Seems to work fine. Lighted keypad a nice option. My one issues is that it does not really appear to have a good weather protectant cover. I don't think the cover will help keep it safe from the elements. So I question its durability.Only time will tell.
