Bought this to be able to split my own wood that I can get by the dump load for way less than I can get cut wood for here! It'll pay for itself the first year!

I must admit when I got the call that my log splitter came in I was very happy... I went to TSC to pick it up, it was shipped in a wooden crate which I knew I was going to have to assemble. I got it home I open the crate in my pickup first think I noticed there was no packing at in and that the muffler assemble had broken off and had rubbed on the hydraulic hoses cause small pin holes. Need less to say I was very upset by this after spending so much on the splitter.... I called the Champion tech support, I referenced the part numbers that were broken for the manual , the tech was very apologetic and I had my parts in 2 days! AMAZING! I assembled the log splitter and much to my dismay it started on the very first pull! I have used it every day for over a week now and I am truly pleased with it! with the log cradle no more having to bend over to pick up logs to split again..... I highly recommend this #sweepstakes#
Split a lot of wood to heat my home. This is a good solid splitter. Watched several videos that showed couple of improvements such as metal cover to protect hydraulic filter and expanding the wood rack to hold larger pieces of wood. Engine cranks on first couple of pulls. Good unit.
This is the most powerful splitter I have ever had. I smile the whole time I use it. It's a touch on the loud side. That's the only bad thing about it. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is looking for a wood splitter.

Went together without any hiccups. We've ran it through several cords already within the first month. It runs well and is simple to operate. What a life saver!
The assembly was much easier than I expected. While moving the main beam was affected by its weight, you don't have to pick it up to assemble the splitter. You can do all the assembly of the tank/chassis and then, if you are on a level hard surface you can stand the beam on its flat end (my wife just steadied it so I didn't knock it over) and attach it to the chassis. Then you can easily pivot it down and complete assembly by putting on the ram and connecting the hoses. I used it to split some big red oak and it worked perfectly. I would have given it 5stars but the tongue weight makes moving it manually harder than it should be.
Powerful splitter, good quality for the money. Mine was missing a week bearing when delivered but Champion made it right and is sensing me a new one. The fenders do seem to get in the way and can hit your shins when you are trying to split. Other than that, I have no complaints about the splitter.
Great log splitter, easy to assemble (engine is a bit Awkard), runs great. Only complaint is that servicing and checking oil is very difficult, access is not easy. Otherwise, great machine.
