I cut a lot of wood and needed a powerful splitter. This 37 ton splitter is well put together and will get the job done.
Shipping was extremely fast from California Documentation was good and exact. All pRys were present and worked as advertised. I am extremely happy with purchase and service from Champion. Do yourself a favor and order direct.
I researched log splitters online extensively. Watched videos on YouTube for days. Champion was the one. Hands down. Have used it several times and it has been flawless. Extremely well built. This 37 ton model is a beast. Nothing it won't split. Thank you people at Champion for making such a great product!
I actually have the 34 ton but, the same size engine. Writing the review here as I can't get to the product review for 100425. We purchased this product for personal use on our 10-acre property. The idea was to stop splitting would manually and save the wear-and-tear on my body. This starts right up with the choke on. And, performs like a champ. I've put some large pieces of wood on here and, it has had no issue with them. The only issue I have is on really large pieces it split piece may fall off the back and hit the fender, which will most likely eventually break the tail light there. Otherwise, I'd give it 5 stars. Be sure to add all of the fluid. Use safety protection as well.
I did not get a chance to use this yet due to weather but I highly recommend it is well built and very affordable I got this because it is rated for 24 inch diameter log .
I'm very happy with the log splitter that I purchased. I have m had the opportunity to use it on numerous occasions. I haven't come across a log that it wouldn't split yet.#Sweepstakes
Realizing this is a residential product, and not a commercial grade. However, I have rented commercial grade machines in the past, and besides not having running lights and highway rated tires, this compares well against the professional rated products with Honda engines.
Still in harvest, Haven't used splitter yet Have built 2 splitters in late 70's Last one with a 6 cyl chevy truck engine/transmission 8''x48'' hyd cylinder hyd pump from a D-9 Cat 10'' H beam 16'' wedge Couldn't find anything I couldn't split Taking champion splitter to Bee Spring KY NOLAN LAKE to lake house. Tornado there this summer Lots of down trees When I first seen your Champion 37 ton I knew I had to have one. I'm 80 yrs old and love sitting around a camp fire with my family. How bout 2 shirts
Just started heavy use the other day on seasoned ash, cherry, and maple and it cuts right thru everything! Cycle time is not an issue so far as most of the wood is fully split on only half a cycle. Very solid and sturdy build, tows fine, not as hard to maneuver from horizontal to vertical as others made it out to be. Heavy to move by yourself but not too bad with a capable helper. If you're strong enough to run a big saw all day and throw some logs around then you'll be fine there. Only complaints I have are the oil design and the hydraulic hose location. Oil access is located UNDER the engine. You're pretty much on all fours to do anything related to oil - adding or changing. Get yourself a flexible or 45 angled funnel to save headaches. Also, the hydra hoses are slightly long and hang at an odd angle with little support. I used a concrete block with a soft heat resistant pad to prop them up, hoping to prevent premature failure there. The top hose by the cylinder also rubs quite a bit during use so I added some pad there as well. Those who complained about it being difficult to start, I had absolutely no issue. If you can start a saw or leaf blower, you should be good. Minor design flaws aren't enough to knock my rating any lower though. This is definitely a beast of a splitter out of the gate. Like everything, when there's 100+ hours of use on it we'll see if the performance remains the same, but for now I'm very happy with my decision to buy. Would 100% recommend
Easy to start but product needs a better stand, you almost need to people to put the stand in. Needs a bigger catch tray. Otherwise I really like it. I cut a lot of wood for our home and this one is larger than my last one so I hope it holds out longer than I do.
