As someone who loves to entertain with family & friends as often as possible purchasing our vertical smoker was a great investment. Its very easy to operate and clean ups a snap. We love to smoke whole pork loins, pork chops, whole chicken as well as chicken legs by having the multiple racks it allows for many foods to be smoking at once by placing the larger meats closer to the bottom and the smaller pieces of meat close on the top racks. We highly would recommend all our family and friends to purchase one and we know for a fact that if anything ever went wrong with ours we diffidently would be buying another one. Hopefully soon we will be purchasing a new grill for ours is getting very old and rugged.
We have had or gas smoker for 2 months now and we just love it. The price was great on this product. I have made some of the best meals with this great Smoker. The great thing about the smoker is you can use any kind of wood chips. With a water dish to use it will keep your meat from getting all dried out. It is very easy to use. Char-Broil you have out done your selves again. You sure make great products, as I have your others also. We just love it.
Been pricing propane smokers for a while and recently found this one. It was within a personal budget. Great quality. It exceeds my expectations. Used it twice so far to cook tri tip and it came out better tasting than grilled tri tip. Even if you have a grill I encourage you to get a smoker. Especially for those times you are craving more than hot dogs and hamburgers.
Was easy to install and cooked great..... First time using I cooked a whole chicken, a boston butt and a rack of ribs... All three meats tasted sooo good.... Only thing is the manual said the water pan would hold water up to 4-6 hours.... In my case It was every one hour that I had to refill. But overall its worth every penny.
I really like this little vertical gas smoker !!! Easy to set up and just check once an hour to add water and chips or pellets and works great. On low is a nice smoking temperature of about 175 if you keep it out of the summer sun.. Only wish it came with more racks !!!
I bought this smoker for my husband as a Father's Day gift because he loves to smoke brisket. As soon as he opened it he was ready to smoke something! It was easy to put together and the quality as great for the price!!!! We ran out and got some chicken just to try it out...the smoker keeps a steady temperture and is easy to use!!! The next weekend we smoked brisket, ribs and sirlon and it worked great!!!! He is thrilled!
Replaced my charcoal smoker, which I dearly loved but tired of the constant attention required. My first use was on a day with temperatures in the mid 40's and light wind. Although burner was on max setting, smoker temperature frequently was around 225 - this prolonged time for meats to achieve proper temperature. Sure a lot less hassle than the charcoal smoker. Would buy again.
The bottom racks work great, tho that could be fixed by rotating the food between racks. Also, the water at the bottom of the smoker, which is supposed to last 4 hours, needs to be checked about every 45-60 minutes. The food tastes great, but this is not a "leave it alone in the smoker for 4 hours" device.
have never been able to get it hot enough to actually smoke anything all the way through always have to either barbecue or put the meat in my oven to cook it through would never buy it again
Well the fact is I it will not get hot enough. At first I thought it was because there was a gap in the door letting cool air inside. Charbroil supplied a new door that closed the gap but I can not get above 140 degrees in weather below 50 degrees. I have not tried it since the weather has warmed up and have reverted back to indirect heat from my grill.
