I have been putting things together for a many years, friends and family are always asking me for an assist putting different things together. This took me four(4) hours. The assembly was just tedious and the heating rack directions could stand a revision. Until I went online to see a picture from your website hopefully that will be it. Looking forward to cooking on it, I shall write another review when I get my first real cooking experience.
Do not ripe the box that it came in, just in case you need to send back. I like my grill, but when assembling it the screw was not align to the correct holes. The lid is off a little, does not align up with the bottom of the grill. The grill cooks really good once put together. It took about 2 hrs to assemble. Great grill need better instruction. You can cook 5 slabs of ribs at a time. Cook for a big crowd. - Do not add a lot of charcoal. The food will cook to fast and burn.
This is a great charcoal grill for the price. The build quality is very nice, aside from the cheap wheels, but those can be upgraded to lawn mower type wheels pretty easily. It was very easy to assemble; only taking a couple of hours. I am basically pleased with the features. I might add some additional temperature gauges for smoking, but that's about it. I bought the optional smoker box that attaches to the side, and the whole thing fit together perfectly. It's a little large, but it gives me an excuse to invite people over.
Hey everyone... I know that this product may seem to be a little bit large... or perhaps you don't want to spend that extra bit of money, but let me tell you that it is well worth it! The instructions were ok. It did take two people to get the thing together, but it was pretty darn easy! The product itself is quite well built. I do plan on replacing the shelves as soon as I can. The wood is rather delicate and I want to bulk that up. I did add the firebox to the side and that sucker is smokin away now! I have smoked 9 racks of ribs and about 30 pounds of chicken on this baby and it performed exactly as I had hoped. It held the temp well, and it is almost as if it told me when I needed to add more wood or charcoal. Very, very easy... Get one, you won't regret it.
I've had this grill for a month now and it is an awesome grilling machine. Did a 6 pound pork butt and was the greatest pull pork I've ever made. Most reviews said it took several people hours to assemble, but I put mine together by myself in an hour. Had it ship-to-store and it arrived in 2 days. It does take 2 people to lift the box though.
Assembly instructions in some spots were vague and confusing. Packaging was excellent. Some piece parts were missing and some wrong size.
it was a little damage on the conner when i got it but a hammer took care of that it took awhile to put it togther but i like it
I must say, although I like the design of the Char-Griller Outlaw, the Char-Griller Customer Service Department has not been helpful. The product I received was defective. In contacting the manufacturer for replacement parts, they do not return calls, they do not respond back to eMails. If they would keep me in the loop of what they are doing to resolve the issue I would be somewhat satisfied. They did send replacement parts in 3 DAYS which was nice, but the parts they sent are obviously from their STOCKPILE OF DEFECTIVE parts. I have to keep calling back to find out the status. Although they said they would RESEND parts AGAIN, I have not received the next shipment in over a week now. I am very dissatisfied but feel stuck because I do not want to pay the restocking fee for the return. I have had the grill for close to a month now, and have not been able to use it because of the defects. My next steps are to rig up the repair myself with a drill, scrap steel, and lumber i will purchase myself. Yes I'd rather buy a drill than pay a restocking fee. BUYER BEWARE-
The instruction manual is apparently terrible. My bf is really good with assembling things but he is havning a hard time. He also mentioned not being able to see the images well because the quality is bad but the instructions also mention items that were not included in the box. He also mentioned that the grill was damaged in some places and I noticed part of the rack was bent too. We are not sure if we were sent something that someone else had returned or if it was destroyed while in storage or during shipping. The only thing that went well was the shipping timing but it is possible that the grill was damaged during shipping. Not sure
Seems like a great unit. Ordered online and delivered. The bottom part arrived bent so the hood will not close properly. I can't find anyone who will step up and replace the piece. Neither Walmart nor manufacturer want to ship a replacement part.
