Purchased as a small DIY craft project I can do at my desk that doesn't require a lot of dedication or mess. Assembling the tree was super easy. The charms come on little model branches that you just twist off with your hands. The only thing you need for this DIY is water, we and you really don't need a lot to activate the charms to stick together. Minimal water is best. I would say the only downside is time for holding after you've applied the water. Instead of holding them together for 30 seconds like the manual says, I've had better luck holding them for 45 seconds to stay, especially if you are trying to stick to a rounded or curved side. After sticking the pieces together you can hang them on the tree to dry. You can also wet the sides you want to apply glitter. After the water dries you use the clear glaze to permanently fuse them together. What I like is if you change your mind during the water phase, just unhook them and try again. I love the glitter application, it makes no mess and keeps all the glitter confined to one area so it doesn't get everywhere. That is, as long as you follow the instructions! The charm pieces themselves won't be permanently fused until a full 25 minutes after glaze application. Needless to say, you want to make sure you don't spill water on the pieces beforehand and keep the kit in a humidity-free zone. The glaze keeps the pieces locked together permanently and also prevents the glitter from falling off. You can make bracelets and necklaces as the instructions state, but I'm going to use mine as charms for my smart phone, headphone case, and Pokewalker. You can even put them on the zipper of your backpack or purse. Even when I'm done assembling all of the charms, I can continue to use the tree as a cute jewelry holder. This product works as long as you follow the instructions. The back of the box has both RoseArt and Mattel logos on it. I hope Mattel brings this product back as I'm seeing it's peak popularity was 2017. Current year posting this review is 2023, mine came from a warehouse in NY. The shipping box was bashed up when it arrived but none of the product inside was harmed.
These were cute, but they don't hold together with water like the directions claim. We had to use glue which got messy and difficult which led to me doing most of the work so, naturally, my daughter got bored. Like I said, they turned out cute and my daughter loves playing with them (she use them as barbie food) but they weren't fun to make.
