This is a super deal. We own 4 of these for isolating our dogs from certain areas of our house. The dogs can't chew through the wire mesh like those gates with plastic mesh. I was disappointed to find out that it was not available in my local store and had to order via internet.
It was the cheapest I could find out there. not cheaply made though, it is great and I would buy others if I need them.
I read the other reviews and decided on this gate to keep my 2 year old out of the laundry room. I wish I would have chosen the taller gate just because I didn't realize that this one was so short, but overall, it's a very good value for the price. It's functional, does the trick and doesn't budge once locked in place. Assembly is very simple. This product is just as good as more expensive options.
We had been looking for a baby gate for our dog. The Pet stores are incredibly over priced so a friend recommended we check out the baby gates for children offered on walmart.com BOY, am I glad we did! It exceeded our expectations! We wanted a simple baby gate that didn't have to be permanently mounted but would stay secure. It had to be one without bars that our 8 lb Pomeranian couldn't squeeze thru either! We saw this one online and noticed it was wood with white accents which matches our color scheme in our new condo ( added bonus!) and the BIG Yahoo?? It was around $20! It arrived quickly and is easy to use. The standard is easy to step over as well. We will be recommending this product to other lil dog owners that need a baby gate. Reading the online reviews was very helpful in making our final decision as well ;-)
I purchased a Child Craft - Tall/Wide Wire Mesh Gate and this is an absolutely perfectly working gate. No sharp top. No sharp edges and the cushioned bumpered sides expand to let the adjustable securing handle and latch make installing a snap. I use this to secure the bottom of my stairs so my elderly and sleep walking mother does not climb the stairs in the night. From the very first night it has functioned perfectly.
This gate works great for keeping small dogs out of bedrooms. My husband and I can easily step over the gates to get into the bedrooms. I installed the gates on the outer edge of the door frame, on the hall side, and thus the door itself will still close without need to take down gate. Nice neutral wood tone, easy to clean, no complex parts, should last a very long time. Will fit a range of openings. No need to spend more -- this does the job.
It is definitely a good product for the price. Although it does have a lot of different slots for the perfect measurement of your door, it does no fit my doors. I dont know if it is my doors or the gates. i just stand it up so my babies will not go in the kitchen or bathroom. It looks exactly how it looks in the pics.
The easy release latch on this is a joke. There is nothing "easy" about it. It took two hands to get it to unclamp. Perhaps it is because it is brand new and will get easier in the long run but it is plastic as well and I foresee it breaking completely. You can save six dollars by buying the cheaper one at the store directly and has the standard metal clamp on the slider bar. This is metal and wood which may hold up better than an all plastic and wood one.
I am using this child gate to prevent my dog from going into a room. It serves the purpose.
These gates are okay for the money. I've used them for other grandkids and they used to be made better. The rubber rings on the sides that protect your walls, fell off almost immediately with the first use. The gates do keep my grandaughter safely contained in her area. Rather than return them, we gorilla glued the rubber protectors on as the rivets ot nails that were there originally could not be removed.
