[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a casual movie watcher and just really enjoy picture quality of this projector. Night and day difference coming from optoma hd26. As other reviews pointed out blacks could be better but not in this price range. Still highly watchable just tweak the iris for darker room.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This projector stands leagues above anything I have ever owned. The debt of colors, richness, clearing, ease of use and setup, I could go on and on. It's great. The only cavity is when HDR switches on, there is a quick color flinch as the projector sets itself. But nothing major. All in all. I have no complaints. And to not have to worry about a bulb is a godsend. Thank you LG. Keep up the great work.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am using this projector on an old 120” Severtson grey screen (0.95 gain, I believe) in a very well light-controlled room. This projector really shines (pun intended), particularly with bright/colorful content. Watching Mulan in 4K was stunning. It really was like having a 120” LCD monitor on the wall! There are many options to tweak the settings to your preferences. I have few gripes with this projector. The shadow detail is slightly lacking in dark scenes.I am using max lens shift for my placement and it seems to cause some focus uniformity issues in the corners which is fairly mild. By the way, the manual controls, particularly the focus lever could use a redesign as they are clunky and difficult to make precise adjustments with. Still with such a stunning image I can easily forgive a few minor shortcomings. Tremendous overall value!
I'm switching from an Optoma 4k lamp based projector and the first things I noticed right off the bat was the brightness is much higher and the colors and HDR are big improvement with the HU810PW. The blacks are also better. For me it was worth the upgrade. As long as the laser light source lasts as long as they claim there will be no complaints from me.
I purchased this projector a year ago. Image quality is great but dark scenes can be hard to make out. I have heard people calibrating it to get even better image but I am not that kind of consumer. Even though this a smart projector you will need a secondary device to get all the streaming services. For sound you'll definitely need a sound bar. Built-in speakers are underwhelming. The good thing is it can pass through Dolby Atmos and other high resolution audio from connected HDMI devices. Image project can be quite tricky to just get right because of manual focus and positioning. I often have to adjust the position or the focus because of temperature changes in the projector cause the Len shifts Just enough to lose focus or misalign with the projector screen. Despite some of these issues this projector has been a great experience. The main problem with this projector is LG refuses/neglected to update the firmware. Even after year it's running on the web OS 5 while newer less expensive projectors are running on webOS 6. Also there are few other issues that keep people have complained about that could be fixed with firmware upgrade just take a look at AVForum. If anybody from LG is reading this please support this product.
This was the second projector I've used from LG (first was a PF1500). I like the unit a lot. Just like with the PF1500, at less than a year the unit began displaying a dead pixel. I'm rather tired of LG projectors that last less than a year. I wish there was a viable solution and an actual guarantee of quality.
Dead pixel after only 700 hours, literally 1 month after the 1-year warranty expired. I would expect video issues after 15,000-20,000 hours. The picture is wonderful, but I am extremely disappointed by this.
2 dead pixels at 3000 hours. 20,000 hour light engine doesn't matter when the pixels die after 1.5 years
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall the image looks great except for the sparkle with red colors. My main problem is... it wasn't built to last at all. Within a year, pixels started to die, so I sent it back in to get fixed. Now it's glitching and cutting to black randomly. I've only owned it 3 years, and it's crapping out. I've had tv's for nearly a decade and this thing has been a problem since I got it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great Product, Image Quality, Luminosity, but 7 DEAD PIXELS after 2 Years of Moderate usage. What can I do? Thank you LG to give me a solution. I live in Canada Ontario
