the good: *builds on proven formula but still contains improvements to the system. *Next Gen graphics. this game looks amazing *balanced but each civ has a unique unit and building (or second unit) as well as civilization power the bad: *STEAM -this bothers me, but not everyone. at least google it if you don't know what it is *DLC -this is supposed to be included but isn't for the collectors edition. *bugs -present when running in DirectX 10/11 mode. if you run into problems the DirectX 9 mode should work fine *no manual (well there is one online, but they are far more useful when printed) *step back -if you played civ 4 with all the expansions some of that content was cut, but it also reduced clutter. they will probably add more with expansions later the collector stuff: *the minis are cool and of good quality, but like most minis they are not painted. *the DVD doesn't really add much except to point out the differences and provide some explanation for them *the soundtrack CD's are of high quality and are not very repetitive *the art book is also of high quality and provides some helpful background and tips as well. not a strategy guide but still good for those interested in the history part.
