buy these in aluminum ,the pvcs trn yellow in a month or so>
I love the lights! They are the perfect addition to the deck posts on our deck. We had some cheaper plastic lights that turned yellow aftre a short time. These are aluminum and will always stay white.
Very pleased with these post top lights. They are clean and bright and are very well made.
I'm extremely pleased with this product and would highly recommend it. I love that it is mostly made of metal instead of plastic. The LED light is nice and strong, and long lasting. I also like that the post cap can fit two different sized posts. The sleek design has a rather futuristic, minimalist look.
My street is very dark and I wanted something that would light up my porch but didn't want to turn on my porch lights all the time. They are very bright and do the trick. They get lots of morning sun and stay charged all night. I also have another at the back of my house and it doesn't get much sun at all and still lights up very bright and lasts all night. They also look nice in the day time as post caps. However, if you are looking for a soft glow or ambience lighting, I would go with something else as these are the bright white / blue LED types. As far as the battery life, the packaging says they last up to 10 years, but I can't attest to that as I just bought them.
Good quality product. The cap light receives about 8 hours of sunlight daily and remains lit dusk until dawn with a nice glow.
So far, so good. Its performing as expected. Solar charging in the daytime and lighting up at dark. So far it seems to stay on at night until after I go to bed. Installation was very easy since an adapter for a 3 1/2" was included (4 X 4 treated post). Post is flat on top. Two phillips screws are included also and these anchor it to the post. Twisting the top allows the rechargable batteries to be changed if necessary. Satisfied with its function and performance.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought these lights as an addition to our deck to provide enough light for ambiance and to guide visitors around. I couldn't be more pleased with the result. The quality of the metal is great. We easily opened the packages and assembled (needed to use the include adapter piece as my poles were shy of 4” squares). But the adapter worked perfect. In fact, so easy to do, my 12 year old actually put on most post caps. Very happy we got these! The lighting is perfect too- not too “blue” of a white light.
I really love the appearance and sturdiness of this product. This would be a 5-Star except for one downside. The opening between the top cover and the transparent sides are just wide enough to let in Earwigs - my most despised insect. They seem to repeatably find there way in and soil up the reflective surface with droppings, shell molting and whatever else they do.
These are not easy to install. They were supposed to fit into a hollow PVC 4 inch post but they do not. The part that fits into the post gets wider as it us inserted, so it's tapered at the bottom. This tapered part fits but can't push it into the post. Ill have to grind the inside to make it wider then try again. Looks like these are nice quality and made from aluminum.
