[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely loved trying the kimchi. It pared so well with just rice or ramen bit also with sandwiches, soups, and sauces. I definitely recommend especially of you want to get into fermented foods for gut health.
Tasty, mild just as indicated so don't expect "authentic" kimchi, think of it as a flavorful sauerkraut. If you are new to fermented foods start off slowly! It's good for the digestive system (mine at least), but if you've never eaten much fermented food and you just eat a big bowl of this you might empty yourself out like you took laxatives.
It's this traditional kimchi? No. Is it a delicious fermented food that has become a favorite snack? Yes, yes it has. Don't go for this if you're a die hard purist, but if you're a little bit flexible and like flavorful, crunchy, nutritious food, then this just might be your jam.
I really liked this milder version; it doesn't taste spicy at all like some reviewers indicated. I loved the seasoning and everything about it. Will definitely buy more in the future.
Not traditional Kimchi, but still tastey. I found it to be a bit sweet and not spicy at all. much more crunchy and a much different flavor profile than kimchi me and my mom make from korea, but again, this was a tastey option for a snack or as a side with some rice and bulgogi.
A little too sweet. Still has a little bit of kick to it so if you avoid all spicy foods, I'd probably avoid. Overall, it doesn't have a really defined kimchi flavor, but it's edible. Definitely eat with plain rice. But I wouldn't recommend.
This is horrible. This is made with regular cabbage, little seasoning, and some pieces were hard; not fermented.
It's a shame calling this kimchi. Walmart used to carry other brands which were closer to traditional kimchi. This uses regular cabbage - not napa cabbage. The taste and texture is inferior. While you can make kimchi using different vegetables, it's understood that unless you specify particular type of kimchi, that this would be traditional napa cabbage. The taste is more like mild pickled cabbage with a hint of spice. No real kimchi flavor. There's also large chunks like the size of 2 ice cubes. Very disappointing. And the probiotics from fermentation just isn't strong either.
There were hard pieces inside the kimchi like a pebble and I bit into it and I almost chipped my tooth.
I thought I found the best tasting kim chi and brought it several times. My last shop I found the worst kim chi I ever had. It was so disgusting in taste odor and dryness I took it off my sandwich and never used again. I threw out the package and will not purchase again. There is no rating available because I give it a zero.
