I purchased this to put on my back deck with my new Better Homes and Gardens Lake Merritt 4-Piece Outdoor Conversation Set...Just love this canopy and it keeps the sun off of you while you sit and relax.
This gazebo is beautiful and we look forward to enjoying it all summer. NOTE -- this gazebo takes hours to assemble and you should definitely have 4 people (1 on each corner) when you get to the point of putting the legs on each corner. It's impossible to do with just 1 or 2 people in our opinion. It will collapse on itself if you don't have someone supporting each corner until you get it bolted together. Be careful! There are so many parts and bolts, screws & washers - it was a little overwhelming at first. Also note, the screws and bolts are made of a soft metal and the heads strip out when you try to crank them in tightly. If we had more time, we would have bought quality replacement hardware of our own. Some instructions were unclear and caused frustration. Beyond the hours of work and assembly frustrations, we are very pleased with the finished product.
As most people previously stated, the assembly is a little difficult and should be attempted by more than one person. I however, was able to assemble it by myself with the assistance of a step ladder. It took a few hours but once it was up, it looks really great and is very sturdy. It survived through quite a few windy days (I used lag bolts to mount permanently onto the deck). For the winter, I just simply removed the upper canopy (removed 4 screws) and then the main canopy. I would definitely recommend this as I, along with my family enjoyed this all season.
The canopy is great! My neighbors recently bought a different (cheaper) canopy and there is no comparison. The quality of this one is FAR superior - well worth the extra money. It wasn't that hard to put up but did require two people. I had planned to enclose the back deck into a screened porch but this is a cheaper, easier and better alternative.
Very sturdy, better than expected. Excellent value. Assembly was difficult and I am an engineer. Better instructions and blueprints for assembly would give it a 5 star rating.
I was worried when I first received this because it said you needed 4 people. My husband and I put it together by ourselves. It took 2 1/2-3 hours. It would of been faster if the instructions were a little better. The frame is very sturdy. The canopy looks like it really won't last a long time but if you compare canopy replacement prices to an umbrella it's way worth it. We put it right on our back porch and bolted it. I love it because it's like another room and better than an awning. I definately recommend it.
This came with the netting included plus it is very sturdy. My husband and I got it up ourselves. Now we can enjoy our new deck even in the rain! The pick up at the store to save on shipping was easy. I would recommend this product.
Very nice canopy. Instructions were hard to follow. You will definitely need help when assembling this canopy. Solid steel pipe make it more sturdy than aluminum canopies that tend to blow away or bend in heavy wind.
Beautiful and sturdy. The instructions were a bit generic, but we figured them out. A few of the pieces needed minor adjustments and one of the screw holes in one of the 4 legs was off by quite a bit, but my husband just drilled new holes and all is well. VERY difficult to assemble with only 2 people. We have had minor gusty winds (20 mph) and it hasn't budged. We don't even have it bolted into the ground yet. CAN NOT FIND REPLACEMENT NETTING!! :-( GREAT VALUE for the cost!!
Had an extreme amount of trouble assembling the frame for this gazebo. The screws were very hard to put in, as the holes were of such poor quality. Almost all of the pieces in the box were bent in some place and had to be pried out so they would connect with other pieces. However, once assembled, the entire thing seems to be fairly sturdy. But I would not disassemble it and store it when not in use as is recommended because I don't think it could be reassembled.
