This product is with me all the time. I use it for every thing. In the garden for planting, removing weeds, and even havesting. It is also great for removing weeds in the lawn and for planting annuals. I am so happy with my cobrahead weeder, that my daughers are receiving one for Christmas. I have also recommend this product to many of my gardener friends.
Love the Cobra weeder! It is an extremely well made, durable and versatile tool. I wonder how I gardened so long without this weeder. I use it for planting and cultivating my in-ground gardens, raised beds, and containers. It's a great gift for your favorite Gardener.
My husband and I moved to his family's farm two months ago. The flower beds at our new home were overgrown with weeds and grass. With osteoarthritis, none of my hand tools were getting the job done without the aching pain later. So I read the info and reviews on the Cobra Head and decided to give it a try. What a breeze to use and my hands were not tired and achy at the end of the day! I would definitely recommend this tool to anyone seeking an ergonomic weeding tool.
I read about this kind of tool in a gardening book. After years of using a hoe, and sitting on the ground more than standing up, this thing works great, digs deep and very accurate. I use the tool to till my garden by hand instead of using my small gas tiller.
This tool makes short work of weeding and cultivating close around established plants. With one swoop of the arm, you are able to slice right into the soil dislodge or cut the weed off below the ground level so it can't grow back. It does indeed feel like an extension of your arm. It's become my new favorite gardening tool.
I wish I had bought this much sooner! I have been able to easily dig up dandelions growing in the yard and also weeds growing in the cracks of the driveway. The unique shape makes it much easier on my wrist as it allows me to use a pulling motion rather than a lifting up motion like my other weeder. It is my new favorite garden tool!
I recently purchased two of these tools and was using it in a customers yard and they asked to use it and then kept it. I have ordered two more. The size allows working close to plants and effectively gets deep enough to get the roots of unwanted weeds or grasses. Much easier to use then the three tined tools that are not sharp. I also use it in the garden to weed and make rows and many other tasks. A great tool with many uses.
I purchased this because one of my neighbors didn't return my converted 3 prong to 1 prong hand rake. I won't be asking for it back. I have used this some for weeding and is great, but I have really found it's strength as a hand cultivator. It has really been a help with planting this fall.
If you follow the instructions that come with this tool you will have excellent weeding results. The instructions tell you how to use it for weeds with short roots and how to use it for weeds with long tap roots. What I especially like about it is that you can loosen the soil around even a deep root and then pull the weed without disturbing the top of the soil and without bringing soil up over the mulch.
Gets to the deep-rooted weeds without breaking the stem. Good for planting small perennials, annual plugs, and bulbs. Good tool for someone starting their tool inventory! Handle needs to be a little more sculpted grip to accomodate the smaller hand and those with arthritis. Makes the hand tired, hence only 4 stars.
