the stereo is better than i thought. when i purchased it i thought it would be a piece of junk, but when i started listening to it, it changed my mind i listen to it all the time. i play my cd`s the most it rocks pretty good. i would tell my friends if they are looking for a small stereo with a big sound then i would tell them to get the coby micro stereo shelf system
I wanted to free up space on my desk at work and not have the radio on my desk turned up so everyone could hear it. The solution was the Coby Micro CD Stereo Shelf System. I mounted the Coby stereo to the wall in a central location. The remote is handy when I need to turn the volume up or down. I have not used the CD player, so I can't commit on it. I liked the Coby stereo so much I bought a second one for my home office.
This is the 2nd Coby Micro CD system we have purchased. We have spent more on other systems that didn't have the sound quality or durability. Very easy to use and looks great. You can't beat it for the price.
Needed a small unit that could put out loud tunes. It was going into mechanic with power tools So volume was important and It did the trick. Does super.
This Coby systems is a very well product, I can listen through a CD or my Coby MP3 player., or the radio. I would Recommend this product to anyone who wanted the choice to listen to a cd, radio, or your MP3 player!!
I received this as a birthday present in November, and it does work great. Played CD's fine, Plays most FM Radio fine, AM Radio is a little iffy because of the weather outside, and because of the other electronics in my room. CD Player makes a strange buzz when trying to load in a disc, but it does not affect the performance of the unit. I managed to hook up my Magnavox portable DVD Player I bought from Walmart into this unit by using a "Y" type adapter, where on one end is a white and red jack, and the other is the end that goes to the "Line In" portion of the stereo system and the sound is very decent. I have yet to plug in a MP3 player because I have not got into buying one yet, but that is coming soon. Remote did not come with batteries, so I had to purchase those separately, but they are very reasonably priced at the Walmart across the street from where I live. Despite a few quirks here and there about this stereo system, it does not deserve to have a star taken off it because of the issues.
I got this because I have a small room and no place other than my desk to put a stereo, so I wanted something small to play my cds. This works good, the speakers themselves are not of the best quality sound-wise but not atrocious. If you're looking for something to just listen to cds sometimes this is good, if you are looking for something where you can hear your music with great clarity, you have to spend more money than this but that goes for almost everything that's priced at a good value with electronics. I do reccommend this, I use it almost daily and it looks great and doesn't take up lots of space.
This Colby product meets my need in terms of having music available in the kitchen while I cook. The product has a stylish design, it compact, and is easy to use. The one minus is poor speaker quality which produces a flat sound. But given the price, the CD player is a good value and other speakers could be attached.
Sure the price is right however, I wouldn't recommend this to a friend at all. That's not what friends are for. For $29.00, you get exactly that, $29.00 worth of quality. The clear cover warped and does not snap shut most times unless you slam it hard and even then it will not snap shut. So, you basically have a $29.00 FM/AM radio with a couple of speakers collecting dust on your bookcase shelf. The Coby Company is not responsive to any inquiries and I would never buy another one of any of their products because of their lack of even a simple response to a simple question. I thought of donating it, but can't. It'll get tossed which is where it belongs. Perhaps I just received a "bad" one, but it is a very poor product to have your name attached to, regardless of the price.
We bought two of these for our children for Christmas & are going to have to take them back.. We are having major problems with the cd player part. Sometimes they work & sometimes they dont..
