Yes, the whistle works! You have to give it a good intentional blow like you mean it. I bought this for camping, so if I ever need it I know it's loud and reliable. The compass seems to work okay although I have not relied on that function.
The whistle is great the compass works some what and the eye glass is cool.
Pretty simple deal, Bought it for my six-year-old and he likes it

This is a really nice tool especially for the price ($2.82). the compass actually works the magnifier is great and the thermometer works good and the whistle is really loud and thats about it. Hope this helps.
I like this but it's just too bulky to add to my keychain.
It lets her learn to use compass and good to have a whistle when lost. Thermometer is kind of strange to me, if it's in the pocket, I'm not sure that would really indicate weather temp.
Nice and inexpensive. Good for a young boy scout or camper. Excellent price. Would make a nice gift for a boy.
It is cheaply made the whistle does work i am not sure about compass and thermom eter and magnifier but as the saying goes you get what you pay for..
