So far so good. It's lit up every time I've needed it too so far. Still is made in the USA save for the globe, that's what made be decide to buy a new lantern as opposed to buying an old one. The only real complaint is that the sticker is garbage and is already bubbling off. The sticker on my new Stove is also garbage and the lettering wore off somewhat after a normal cleaning. I also dislike that the the model numbers are really confusing now, since they got rid of the older numbering convention.
I like this lantern it works very well so far, I bought it along with the Coleman dual fuel stove so I could run everything on one fuel source. But now I'm stuck with both and since the stove has been so unreliable I have to carry propane and Coleman fuel which takes extra room and leaves me looking for propane and Coleman fuel to go camping
I'm camping out in the Colorado forest and it's really dark at night, but with my Coleman Lantern I feel comfortable and confident. 800 lumens of light! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have had my first one for twenty years. Till i replaced it with a new one. Did not expect to see this lantern still. Just need a little fuel. And mantels. Buy a lot of mantels. Lantern works great. Awesome. Be careful of the glass around the light source. When lighting this guy. Stay an arms length away. Great lantern. Picture of the Old one still working to.
Originally I purchased the Northstar Duel Fuel to add to my collection of gas lanterns, but this thing is awesome, I have been reading mixed reviews about the Northstar and had concerns before I was able to get one. The features I really like are the ignition battery to light the lantern, self cleaning so no more “cranking” the cleaner brush, and the brightness of the light output. If there is a complaint it has nothing to do with the lantern (other than red color would be nice), but the lack of accessories. I would like to see a hard case with storage for the funnel and extra mantels, a reflector to direct light, and a larger hat to keep rain water off off the hot glass.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use it for the hurricane Irma Maria for 2months.
Just like the old days…but improved functionality! Works great…first time, every time.
I've been a big fan of Coleman for years. Most of my Coleman stuff was passed down to me from my grandfather and dad. With the way the world is going I thought it was time to add to my collection to have more resources available. Admittedly the new stove and lanterns don't feel as robust as the older ones but make no mistake, they're just as dependable when maintained properly and not thrown around. Take care of it like you want it to take care of you when you need it the most.
Great lantern updated with modern conveniences such as the rubber non slip base, the guard around the globe and the electronic ignition. If I am in a hurry for light it's the lantern I grab.
this is NOT a propane lantern, as listed in the description.
