This is made of plastic and the white part looks very cheap. I actually took the product back to the store and opted for a more expensive one. I guess you get what you pay for. It looks good for 10 bucks.
A normal roll of toilet paper does not fit on this product! It is designed so that the roll gets stuck between the base pieces and can't roll. It's fine once the roll dwindles a bit but is annoying when a fresh roll is on. Ridiculous.
