I grew up with a chrome and brown cosco step stool that the hinge to flip up the seat just broke this year. Was happy to see they still make the same style and even more happy to see all the colors to choose from. This is perfect! Was fairly easy to put together.
the Cosco Chair With Step Stool, in White arrived in pieces. It took approximately 45 minutes from box to assembly. It was easy to assemble following the directions. however you have to be extremely careful as one of the parts for the seat broke when trying to assemble that part. Otherwise, this is a great tool for the kitchen or the laundry room (which is where I am using it). The seat comes up easily and the steps are sturdy and wide.
I like the retro look of this stool and chair. It seems pretty solid and it's handy. I have it in the kitchen and I've used it several times since I've had it. There's some assembly required out of the box and all the hardware needed is included. The bolts that the chair seat swings on are kind of long for some reason, but it works fine. Also, there's a mild rocking from the legs not being absolutely perfect, but I found that almost anything with four legs has a little of that. I'm comfortable standing on it and feel completely safe. All in all this chair and step stool combo make a great extra chair when needed and a handy step stool all in one!
This Cosco Chair with Step Stool is exactly the type of chair that fits perfectly in my studio. I have a formulation studio and needed a chair. The workbench I use is more the height of a bar or an island and the height of this chair is spot-on. In addition to needing a chair, I also needed a step stool to reach items kept in the tall storage closets. This attractive chair has a seat that flips up giving you access to the step stool. Fantastic! I love the vibrant white color and sturdiness of this chair/step-stool. The chair arrived in a flat box, unassembled. All the parts, including hardware, were present. The instructions were easy to follow. The only thing you need to supply is a Philips head screwdriver. Putting this together was not very difficult at all. Assembly tip: do not tighten down the screws before it's all put together. You will need the screws loose so you can adjust the pieces. Once everything is assembled, then tighten the screws. This will make life easier. I am very happy with Cosco's Chair with Step Stool. The style and form are wonderful. I recommend this for anyone who needs a sturdy well-designed chair with a step-stool.
This step stool is very heavy, sturdy and safe to stand on.. what is great about it is the addded features. 1) The hand bar is great for Keeping your blance and, The material is sturdy, will not bend and the seat is well padded and comfortable for sitting..p
I HAVE JUST ASSEMBLED THE COSCO CHAIR WITH A STEP STOOL. I HAD A LITTLE TROUBLE PUTTING IT TOGETHER BUT FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT. IT ONLY COMES IN WHITE BUT YOU COULD COVER THE BACK REST TO MAKE IT YOUR OWN. THE 24 INCH HIGH SEAT IS IDEAL FOR COUNTERS. THE VINYL UPHOLSTERED CUSHIONED SEAT LIFTS UP TO GET EASY ACCESS TO THE STEPS. THE STEP TREADS ARE RIBBED FOR SLIP RESISTANCE. IT HAS A WEIGHT CAPACITY OF 225 POUNDS. IT DOES NOT FOLD BUT DOESN'T TAKE UP MUCH ROOM AND GIVES YOU AN EXTRA SEAT. IT IS EASY TO KEEP CLEAN WITH JUST A GOOD WIPE. MY MICROWAVE IS ABOVE MY HOOD VENT AND I HAVE TO CLIMB TO REACH IT TO CLEAN IT. I NOW CAN DO IT A LOT SAFER. I HAVE BEEN ON CRUTCHES MORE THAN ONCE AND WISHED I HAD SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO SIT ON WHILE I COOKED. THIS IS IDEAL FOR THAT. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO MANY YEARS WITH MY COSCO.
This step stool has to be assembled when you get it, which is fine. It came together fairly easily for me but it did take 1-2 hours as I did it by myself. The instructions were clear, but be very careful when assembling the steps to the sides and ensure everything's in the right place and turned correctly. I like the chair and it is good either way you use it, however, I'm just not too sure anyone who is close to the 225-pound weight capacity should stand on it. I'm not too close to that weight, but it made me a little nervous standing on the steps. It is held together with screws and locking washers. The screws are Phillips-head screws and as I was tightening, it was too easy to strip the head if I wasn't very careful. The instructions do say to tighten the screws periodically and if you strip the screw head you can't do that. I would have preferred a more secure form of assembly such as nuts and bolts, if that is even possible. If you are under 200 pounds, I can recommend this chair and step stool.
After taking 40 minutes to assembly, this step stool will serve a purpose for those who need multiple heights of a step stool. The height of the stool to the part of the seat is ~2 feet. The height to the back of the chair is ~ 32 inches; not very tall. The seat is padded. The seat does raise and lower with the use of the highest step. The manual does not give total weight limit..that is questionable. I gave this item 3 stars because: the stool does don't fold up for storage in closet space, the height of the stool is not very tall and took way too much time to assembly. Would recommend for purchase. Read reviews to see if it fits your purpose.
This step stool has to be put together it takes about 15 minutes for one person, tools are not included. The instructions are easy to follow. While putting this together a piece of the plastic hinge bracket broke off and the seat slides back and forth. When it is all put together it looks nice. The stool is made of metal but it's lightweight and the steps have plastic grippers instead of rubber. I weight 110 pounds and sitting on this stool made me nervous, it's flimsy and it feels like it would tip if I moved around. They are not made like back in the day. It's fine as a step stool but I wouldn't use it to sit on. I tried finding a weight limit on it but there was not a sticker. The seat is padded which is nice.
I received this stool from the Spark Reviewer program for my honest and fair opinion of this product. I was quickly and easily able to put all the pieces together except for the seat, which gave me a lot of difficulty and I needed assistance on getting one side to screw together. He held the seat and side together while I put in the screw. The directions were very clear and the parts were all here. After getting it all together I stood it upright. The stool wobbled. I didn't have time to work on it again until after Christmas. I took it apart today and put it back together. It still wobbles, therefore I would not recommend the purchase of this step stool/chair. I will not be standing on it and don't recommend that anyone else stand on it, either.
