Best wood pellet grill ever. I get compliments from my wife, relatives , co-workers, and comments like "this is better beef brisket that I've ever had at any restaurant" and "that's gotta be the best ribs i've ever had". Transform yourself into a professional BBQ pitmaster. Just pop the top, turn it on, throw down fatty brisket, and let the smoke roll.
Overall, I have found this grill to work well, hold the temperature well and also found Coyote to be responsive when I had an issue. The grill is beautiful and all stainless steel. This was important to me as all my other grills that were not 100% stainless steel have rusted out after a few years due to the almost tropical rains and high humidity where I live. The Good: Large pull out drawers, ease of getting to & cleaning the drip pans and the built in lights. Front loading hopper is convenient. Since all components are made of high quality stainless steel, clean up is amazing easy. The Bad: There is not a quick and easy way to to remove the unused pellets from the hopper after the cook is finished. Coyote told me that I could remove the extra pellets by going into the setting menu and feeding the pellets into the firebox without the fire. This works, but it is slow and you need to closely monitor the level of the pellets in the firebox so it does not overfill. Wifi would be nice so the grill could send notifications when something is not right. (Not as important to me since I use Meater probes, which are wifi enabled.) The service: On my very first cook I was cooking some beautiful beef ribs and 6 hours into the cook, the pellets stopped feeding into the firebox. I tried troubleshooting without success. Fortunately, I was able to finish the beef ribs in the oven-and they were delicious. When I told the dealer about this issue, they immediately called Coyote (on a Saturday) and I had a Coyote rep scheduled to check out my grill mid morning Monday. The problem was a pellet jam which was cleared by the rep. Evidently the rain had ruined some pellets which became a solid clog. I now make sure I do not cook with the grill out in the rain; and vacuum the firebox and empty the hopper (due to our local humidity) after each cook in addition to cleaning all the components. No further issues.
I am mighty impressed. great craftsmanship and grill construction, front loading pellet drawer is the ergonomic standard. This grill also has a very easy to use touch screen. I figured out how to use it without reading the manuals. I've used it as a grill and smoker. fantastic. great heat retention of the grill. so it won't burn as much wood pellets as my old pellet grill. This grill also has 3 fans inside, most pellet grills only has 1 fan. The hopper holds tons of pellet and the racks holds tons of meat. Since buying the grill, I've smoked just about everything I could: Ribs, pork butt, salmon, brisket, sausage and more ribs.
Customer service was great!
I had another pellet grill which was okay but the coyote can do it all. I honestly don't think I will ever use my gas grill again. I used to have to cook burgers or steaks on the gas grill and use my old pellet for slow cooking or smoking. The Coyote grill can do both. Very happy!!
I've used this pellet grill for about 9 months. So far so good. Great heat retention due to its double walled hood and double walled fire pit design. It holds temp really well during the winter, which saves me lots of wood pellets.
This grill is built like a tank, very solid. Front loading pellet reservoir is very functional compared to others on the market. Storage drawers are very well constructed. Swapping between smoker and grill is very easy making a reverse seat simple to accomplish. All the food I have cooked so far has come out amazing. Highly recommend!!
I have this grill, I hardly use it. Typically difficult to start up, sometimes doesn't start at all. Pellets jam up frequently. The direct grill is nice, gets super hot. Holds a temp well.I find that I use my Yoder Ys640s more frequently. It's a beautiful grill though.
The first grill arrived scratched and dented. The damage also made the electronics go haywire as well and it would not operate properly. BBQ guys did pick up the 1st grill and deliver the second grill very quickly. The 2nd grill had no damage and worked properly for a week before it started tripping the GFCI box. Neither BBQ guys or coyote customer service could help me solve the problem. I figured out the problem on my own and the 2nd grill now runs properly and I'm enjoying it.
We purchased two of these grills . The free standing and built in. The free standing grill died after first use. This is where the nightmare started. We had to deal with Coyote directly. It took them 3 months to replace the grill. The next one that was sent the eternal electronic screen died second time used half way through a smoke. Coyotes customer service wasn't great did not return phone calls when they said they would. Again beautiful stainless steel exterior is gorgeous. Major work needed on electronic components. Would never buy again.
