After we let it initially warm up after the 2 hour period, this light just goes and goes! My son sits and just looks at it. The colors are exactly what I thought they would be, we get multiple bubbles going, just great. One word of caution - the top of the light (where the fluid is) doesn't very securely fasten to the bottom, so it needs to be sitting in a very stable location. I believe it is a safety feature in case the light gets knocked over because we noticed that when it was not seated properly, the light would go off and on, so I am assuming there is some sort of safety feature that shuts itself off it is not properly seated.
I purchased two. These boarder my TV and when the big screen is off these two emit a very peaceful blue color... excellent, calm, if I had room I would get two more..such a pretty shade of blue, actually an outstanding blue color ! Not like the others.
it's so pretty! I think the liquid is a little too dark, but that is just a personal thing. I've been buying lava lamps for the birthdays etc I have coming up (home bored you know lol) and I have to say I recommend walmart for your lava lamp needs. lava lamps can be ruined if they are shaken or badly handled especially when hot or warm. the liquid gets cloudy like skim milk and it is almost impossible to fix. that can also happen if stored in a warm/hot area. I also ordered one from amazon and ebay. those 2 were horribly cloudy and I had to return them (which is a PIA). I have gotten about 5 from walmart.com, they came in the mail. not one single one was cloudy, every single one was clear and great. I am SO impressed with walmart, they and/or their suppliers must take very good care about where they store and how they handle the lamps. even the delivery people were unable to ruin them LOL. I probably won't order any in the summer, but the weather isn't the stores fault :) the prices were also great, I'm not rich, especially right now. I HIGHLY recommend walmart for these lamps. thanks walmart, I am so happy and now I want a few for myself! please carry more.
It does not look exactly like the picture but it is a good little lava lamp and yes it does take some time to heat up and can look a bit funny and make you think it is messed up but usually goes back to being normal
It takes a lot of time to heat the "lava" and make bubbles, but overall, for the price, it's a nice little lamp. My teenage boy is happy with it.
It's a little cloudy and murky. Not as clear as the picture indicates but a nice accessary for the price. I have had other lava lamps that were more vivid but not for $8
Creative motion makes really awesome products, so I wasn't hesitant on purchasing this lamp. As usual, the liquid is colored, but crystal clear, I've never seen a Creative Motion lamp that was cloudy. The height and design are really modern and sharp looking. Now the bad. It may just be just the wax in my lamp only, but it's not very active and makes one big ball that floats to the top and comes back down, I have yet to see it "snake" or have multiple goo balls going at the same time. I'm hoping over time, and the more it's used, that the wax will soften more and it will begin to behave differently.
ths lamp does not have enough of the yellow in it to get heavy enough to move around it just sits on the bottom .. have not seen it bubble or split apart once
The product was received defective despite in a new box appearance. A non functioning light and broken pieces within the lamp. A returned product.
Pain to order something and go to the store and pick it up and then the bulb is broken and glass gets on everything when you open the box.....
