[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this new Foil Transfer Kit! It was so easy to use, easy to add the line types into my project in design space, and the end results blew me away! The fine detail it was able to create was super impressive! Now I want to foil all the things!
I made bookmarks with the foil transfer sheets I received. They cane out awesome.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've made six different projects with the Cricut Foil Transfer Kit and each one turned out perfectly! I love how the Design Space prompts remind me exactly when to change out tools.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm so impressed with Cricut's new foil transfer system! I couldn't believe I got professional-looking results right away! Be sure to follow the directions in Design Space. Also, take a look at the web link mentioned in the “get started” instructions. I didn't at first, so I experienced a little trial and error (make sure your foil covers your entire design, don't cover any of your design area with tape, test the tape on your paper first, etc.). The fine tip is especially impressive at foiling tiny, intricate designs. I will say the bold tip seemed to skip a tiny bit here and there using my Explore Air 2, but not too obtrusively. All in all, this tool is amazing, and the results are just stunning. I'm in love! I'm sooo happy — I'm adding foil to all my projects!
The thought of using this was a little intimidating, but the Cricut video tutorial was helpful. I have only used this 3-4 times, but my results have been great!
Does exactly as expected. Has a learning curve, but that's to be expected from fine craftwork
I'd been curious to try the foil transfer kit. It wasn't hard to use and my first project was a 25th (aka Silver) Wedding Anniversary card, which came out great. I'm looking forward to finding new ways to use it. I'll bet it will be great for holiday projects!
The foil transfer kit is of good quality. I used it to foil in the silver color a scripture reference. I used the medium on the Cherry Veneer. It came out a little lighter than I expected. But it is readable.
I've had the foil tool for a few years now and love the projects I've made. I duplicate the foil lines, align center and attach them so that the machine goes over the lines twice. Just to make sure I get a good transfer. I haven't had a bad transfer with this technique. Make sure your image is about 1/2 inch smaller than your piece of foil as I've noticed that it doesn't transfer if the tool goes over the tape. I use with maker/maker3. I have also had great results with cricut cardstock. After doing the double layers I do get great results on other cardstock like park lane.
I had read other reviews about this product and thought I would give it a try despite the fact that it may be hard to work with. Well it is! Definitely depends on what paper type you use, pressure, etc. Use only if you have LOTS of time for trial and error and patience!
