I bought this to hang on my closet door for my scarves, winter and fashion ones. It is perfect hangs all of them and I have over 30+!!! I even have room for more. Its a great space saver and it really has excelent quality for the cost. I looked at one that was almost twice as much but it would not have held as much as this one, glad I ordered this one online Definate recomendation for anyone looking for a nice towel or scarf holder without a lot of cost. Only negative to the whole thing is the in store pick up, it took a long time to get help and even then it came in such a big box that it was hard to carry with my daughter in my arms.
I got this towel rack to replace another over-the-door rack that lacked stability & made lots of clanking noise when removing or replacing a towel from the bar. The new one, purchased through Wal-Mart, stays put & doesn't make a lot of noise when towels are taken off or put onto it, so right off the bat, that makes this a great buy! Add in quicker-than-expected shipping from Wal-mart made my purchase complete & me a happy customer!
This isn't exactly what I was expecting.. looks a little cheap and feels that way too but I only paid like 12 bucks for it compared to others like it priced at about 40. Guess you get what you pay for.. but overall very nice and functional.
The towel rack fits nicely where I wanted it to and it complements my other bath fixtures. It isn't wide enough to hang a bath towel fully open to dry after a shower, but handles them folded very well. My only problem is that I received the package for this relatively small item inside a huge box. I found that to be wasteful, unnecessary, and inconvenient.
I bought this with the matching shelf that goes behind the toilet. It was easy enough to put together but it becomes warped because it is so flimsy if the screws arent put together just right. The apperance with the towels on it is great. My biggest complaint is the two hooks that hang over the door are thick and scratched the paint off my doorframe and made several gouges in the wood.
It doesn't snug the top of the door frame well. So it slides around. Plus, I think the hanging part could be a bit thinner for the door to close all the way, but I guess if you have space on top of the door and below it, it would fit just fine. So I'm guessing the space between the top of the door and the door frame (when closed) have to be at least .5 inches give or take (based on the make of the door). I think its great despite its flaws. Its easy to put together and in my situation saves me money and time from putting holes into the walls since I rent. So if you are a renter and have no towel holder, I would recommend this product for a quick fix since you never know if you'll find another apartment that actually has towel holders in the bathroom. If you want something simple and not break the bank in this economy, I recommend this. Just make sure there's a space between the top of the door and the frame before purchasing, it's probably .2inches (the rod over the door). Everything is just temporary.
This over-the-door towel bar looks fine — but the design needs improvement. The brackets that fit over the top of the door are TOO THICK. With this device in place, a good-fitting door cannot be closed without first altering the door and the door stop. (Door stop is the trim piece along sides and top of jamb). My door is new and pristine; didn't want to mar the door to accommodate this towel bar. I returned the product to store.
The support on each side was not even so the left side support was shorter than the right. I had to bend it to make it even so the left side sticks out from the door. I knew that I could not return it due to my location so ordered this inexpensive one just in case. It works for my purposes ---you get what you pay for.
I was very disappointed with the product. I would have sent it back but threw away the packaging. The screws were very small and very hard to handle. It clatters when the door is closed with it on it. I guess you do get what you pay for, in this case for sure.
The over-the-door towel holder is what we needed but not this one. It scratched our door, and brackets that fit over the door were way too wide for our bathroom door. I returned it to our local Walmart without a hassle.
