Product Description Based on the original NES game but enhanced for the Game Boy Color, Crystalis is an overhead-perspective, Zelda -styled adventure. A hundred years after a violent nuclear war has severely crippled what was the Modern Age, magic has made a big comeback. You are a member of a group of do-gooding sorcerers who are using the new magic to rebuild civilization. Working against your efforts is the villainous Draygonia (with a name like that you know he's bad), who is using his magic to try to finish life on earth. In Crystalis you will explore 10 regions on a mission to recover the four mystical swords and combine them into the Sword of Crystalis. Once you've got that put together, you'll then go after Draygonia to show him the business end of your big new blade. The NES version was released three years after introduced Link to the world in his very first 8-bit Zelda adventure. The story in Crystalis revolves around a young warrior who was cryogenically suspended before an earthly cataclysm that was scheduled to take place October 7, 1997. After the doomsday event, the earth is being rebuilt under the threat of trouble erupting again. After 100 years in a cryogenic state, the warrior is revived with the hope that he can stop the world from being destroyed for a second time. An evil menace named Draygonia is dead set on destroying the world, and it's your job to help the warrior stop him. The game offers plenty hack-and-slash combat. A very Zelda-like inventory system is extremely handy, and the game relies heavily on special items. While Crystalis doesn't come close to offering up the same level of gaming experience as other games in this genre, it does offer an entertaining quest nonetheless.
