Bought around a month ago and I used it twice so far. It's so easy to use and makes wonderful ice cream. So far, I've made french vanilla and pineapple ice cream. The pineapple was supposed to be mango, but I grabbed the wrong bag from the freezer section of the store. What a surprise. It came out delicious, regardless. Highly recommend.
Makes the best ice cream so easily! I am a huge ice cream fan and got tired of buying it from the store. I love making custom ice creams and I'm earning cool mom points 😆 our favorite has been the chocolate recipe in the booklet with the machine! So rich and creamy and delicious you will not regret this purchase!
Very nice. Quite pleased. Love the wide top opening. I bought this to replace an ice cream freezer that no longer worked. I tried this new one it at home, once, then brought it to my son and daughter-in-laws home in Tennessee. We made cherry vanilla, for my now nine-year old's birthday. I then made a mixture of cream, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt and refrigerated it. The next day the grandchildren and I prepared to make “Chocolate Lace and Cream” ice cream. I started the machine and excitedly said, “Now just pour it all in, Jimmy!” On, no! I forgot to place the freezing unit in! The liquid ran through the machine and ran all over the counter and floor. “I was wondering why you didn't get the freezing bowl out of the freezer, Nana!” said the birthday boy. Warning. Don't do this! I am buying another one for our home. Family has made 4 different ice cream flavors in the last week. Time for a diet!
Easy, healthier, frozen desserts. A few more batches of Dole Whip and it will have paid for itself! When you can't eat dairy and stay away from gluten your choices are limited and expensive at the store. This is the best alternative, it doesn't take long to make something and cleanup is quick. Experimenting is a lot of fun. It is a bit loud while operating but worth it.
We have been making ice cream almost every week since I got this for my husband in July. Strawberry, blueberry-basil, and peach have been wonderful. This unit is small but great for 2-4 people. We make only 1-1.5 quarts at a time and don't run it too long - the ice cream is soft when we eat it & we freeze the remainder in Tupperware containers in the freezer. If you put in to much it overflows the rim of the freezing container as it churns & incorporates air. This unit works great but I'd recommend not over-filling it or running it too long. It is not a powerful motor so we don't want to burn it out. It freezes most of our batches soft-serve batches in 12-18 minutes depending on volume & cream content. We love it.
We put this ice cream maker to immediate use and were very pleased with the results. The machine is unfussy and easy to use, relying on a freezing element that gets cold in your freezer. It comes with a book of recipes that are quite good. We recommend the "custard-style" ice cream recipes for the kind of texture you would get in a store. The ice cream sandwiches picture here were a huge hit.
I have always wanted to make home made ice cream. I reviewed maker and had it on my wish list for months and bought it on Christmas day. This is my 4th batch. Two pineapple and two mango. It is so good and easy to make. I sharing my experience and love with anyone who loves ice cream as I do. Can't wait to make a surprise batch of my dad's favorite, Run & Raisin. O know he'll be floored. Thank you cuisinart for the design and features that I don't have to find rock salt and ice.
I reallly love this ice cream maker. It us easy to use and versatile. I have made creamy ice cream as well as low-fat ice cream. I will soon be making some frozen yogurt. There are sooooo many recipes on the internet, the ideas are endless!
I have to say I will never buy ice cream again. I have made the vanilla, chocolate & strawberry ice creams with the recipes that came with the machine. I substituted extra creamy oat milk for whole milk & plant based cream for heavy cream. They tasted fabulous. My 3 kids agree. I'm excited to try mint next.
Very easy to use, but keep these things in mind. 1. Follow directions to have everything ready, then pull container from freezer, assemble and turn on machine, then pour in the prepared "soup". 2. after 10 minutes keep an eye on it, sometimes as it is thickening up the top half of the batch is not doing anything and you need to use a spoon to get it moving so batch is consistent. 3. Be sure you have your containers and a scoop and spatula ready before it finishes, otherwise you might face melted ice cream and stuck on ice cream in the bowl as once you stop it freezes to the side. 4. I bought the Tovolo round ice cream container, it is great as it fits nicely inside the freezer container for the machine so can store it in freezer without loosing too much space. Tried the cheesecake ice cream recipe in booklet, delicious but way too sweet and rich, also tried the mint with our own chocolate mint leaves, yummy. The recipes with milk are a bit icy and taste best freshly made. The cheesecake one was great no matter when we had it but could only eat 1 or 2 spoonfuls it was so rich.
