My 2nd Cuisinart, bought 1st, in the box, at a garage sale. Once I started using it, I wondered how I did with out it for the first 70 years of my life. The top part fell and one of the contacts broke off; it still worked, as long as I put pressure on the top. Needless to say, my daughter saw me at work with my processor, and gifted me with a new one. My other daughter laid claim to my old one, and now we have 2 happy users
I think this is my 4th Cuisinart. I have loved them all -- the only brand of food processor I've ever had. But, this one is so much better. I love the larger capacity with the 2 work bowls, so you can use it for smaller jobs, not just for large quantities. I also love how tightly the parts fit together. Very solid. Also gets the tasks done so quickly. Having a safe place to store the parts is a big plus!
I like the power it has, and the adjustable slicing disc is terrific. Sliced celery for stuffing, mushrooms for soup. A really big improvement over a standard slicing disc. I was disappointed with the dough attachment for making pie crust, though maybe it was only meant for bread making. Switched to the large blade to get better incorporation of the fat into the flour.
Great food processor. I especially appreciate the wide food chute and the easily adjustable blade attachment. The unique design allows for the full addition of liquids without them leaking out of the processor bowl. I also like that everything except for the motor is dishwasher safe.
I process tons of veggies and make large quantities of canned goods and it is a huge time saver. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the adjustable slicer. It would pull the veggies at an angle as they went in so you get some wonky slices. But I love everything else. Added bonus: the customer service is wonderful. My small work bowl cracked and they quickly sent a replacement. Much appreciated.
I keep finding new uses for this thing, and every time I use it, I am impressed with how it works. We made sweet potato chips the other day. I turned 10 minutes of careful slicing into about 30 seconds with one of the attachments. We shall see how it holds up long term, but I have no doubt it will live up to its name. Great product. Only downside for us: it's big and we have small apartment. If someone is looking for something compact, this is not their product.
I bought the 13 cup to replace a smaller cuisinart. I've had a cuisinart in my kitchen for decades, but never one this large. I LOVE IT!!! I wish I had bought one sooner. It has more power and I can, obviously, make larger amounts of everything! If you can afford it, go for a bigger one! By the way, I also use the baby cuisinart to chop herbs, etc when I need a small amount.
Overall OK, but in the chopping and grating modes too much under-processed food accumulates around the perimeter of the lid and the corners of the main basket, requiring manual remixing and over-processing of some of the food. It seems the clearance between the blades and the container is too much.
I've used Cuisinart food processors for 30 + years now. My old one (24 years!) finally gave up the ghost, so I was very excited to get a new unit with a bigger bowl. I am EXTREMELY disappointed at the quality. While the smaller work bowl accessory is a nice feature, the parts are clearly sub-par for the quality I expect from Cuisinart. The chute in which to place food for slicing or shredding is so shallow as to make it almost unusable. By the time I trim carrots for example down to fit, I might as well just slice them by hand. The plastic on the chopping blade is flimsy, and the spatula that came with it for scraping is so thin and flimsy that I threw it away. I'm still using the bowl scraper that came with my last unit 24 years ago. Finally, when I went on the Cuisinart website to view the owner's manual, I see that my brand new processor has been discontinued. I'm very disappointed.
I was very disappointed in the quality and durability of the bowl. After using the food processor only 6-7 times the locking/safety mechanism broke rendering the process useless. I will be following up on the warranty but will not have a working processor for holiday baking.
