I had my old Waring waffle maker for 15 years and it made the best crispy waffles on the planet. I would have replaced it with another Waring but the waffle maker I bought 15 years ago for $60 is now $400. I bought this waffle maker because it looks like the Waring but that's where the similarity ends. The temperature control only dials in the level of sogginess. I tried two different Cuisinart waffle maker designs including the vertical one and the results are the same. More Chinese junk. What a disappointment - this isn't rocket science. Guess I have to spend $400 for another Waring.
