Great unit, tried and true. Easy to clean and the motor lasts forever.
Holds a large amount of water. Heats fast and turns itself off. Be sure and tap the lid tightly before heating the water.
Love it for having hot tea; it's so cool that the on/off lever lights up and then shuts off automatically when the water is boiled. It's very easy to clean, as opposed to a whistling teapot. I would recommend that one be careful when closing down the lid so one does not get one's finger pinched. It's great for a good hot cup of tea or for whatever you need hot water. I use it every day.
Perfect. I love the volume and the speed with which it heats the water. I wish it had a warmer feature to keep the water warm. People complained about it getting spots on the bottom of the pitcher. That's due to the water Just put white vinegar in the bottom to cover, then turn kettle on
We like Cuisinart products generally for high quality and reasonable (not lowest) price. The kettle heats water quickly and has an automatic shutoff once the water has been boiling for a little while. The clear glass container is visually better than a metal container. The only negative is that there is that the top is opened by a latching mechanism on the top lip rather than by a thumb tab on the handle fF(which we had on a previous non-Cuisnart kettle). It took a little getting used to but now the Cuisinart latching mechanism is fine and probably a little safer than the thumb tab.
Purchase was based on this electric kettle's clean & unique design and cost; doesn't disappoint when it comes to functionality either! Quick to boil, easy to operate and absolutely worth the simple 2.5 minutes a month it takes to descale and clean thoroughly! … in other words: disregard the reviews that complain about how a crystal clear glass kettle is “poorly made” or “a waste of money” because those buyers don't understand how to maintain an appliance by actually cleaning it regularly and seem to think a product at this price point and made of *literal glass* should keep its original condition/look without any upkeep or effort… lol. But I digress. Keep up the good work Cuisinart.
Veryn ice kettle. It looks good and seems well made. I like that it's mostly metal and glass. If you don't want plastic in the water the strainer is removable. The only thing that could be better is the design of the locking mechanism for the lid. It's a little difficult to open and close. You have to pull up on the lever in both directions, which isn't really a problem when opening but is a little awkward when closing. Not a deal killer but it is a minor inconvenience.
The kettle works great, and it looks great as well. The one thing I have noticed and I am still trying to adjust to is that it gives my water a noticeable smell and taste after boiling it that other pots I have used do not. I have double filtered and purified water, that I know does not have the smell or taste prior to boiling it. At first I attributed it to the fact that it may have been the "newness" of the kettle continuing to burn off. But it has been much too long for that now. Temp is great also. I was planning on buying another for camp, but probably won't.
Cons. The fill marking is only on one side. Almost every time the kettle is boiled there is calcium forming at the bottom of the kettle. I know it is due to the hardness of water being used but my previous kettles took a while before getting calcium build up. The filter screen is awkward to take off and replace. Pros Nice SS base. Quick to boil Easy to clean. Simple Lid Open/Close Mechanism
I had the previous Cordless Electric Kettle, while this one is nice the older version fit into my refrigerator in door space for filling, this one does not I have to use a 2cup measuring cup and fill it several times. Also this kettle with the water in it is much heaver to lift. The screen at the pour spout gets I my way when I fill the kettle.
