My wife and I received this Pro Classic 7 Cup Food Processor several years ago from my aunt as a wedding gift. One day, I reached for the food processor, and too my dismay, my beautiful wife tells me she sold it in a garage sale —"What?! Nooo!!!", I said. Anyway, we loved it then and used it often, so I purchased the same model to make salsa and fig power bars; and I will make sure it does not end up in the next garage sale :)
I had used my old Cuisinart for years, and it still worked great but I was unable to find new blades as it was so old. Hoping that a new Cuisinart would be as good as the old one, I took the chance and it sure is! A great food processor- the competitors don't stand a chance (I know I tried them before I came back). But it from the company so you know you are getting the best.
My 7 cup Cuisinart is the most used appliance in my kitchen. I have a large family of seven and we eat most meals at home. Our Cuisinart cuts the prep time in half. I can't even remember when I purchased my first one it has been that long ago, I just had to order this new one because I cracked locking mechanism. This is a no- brainer, everyone needs this in their kitchen!
I am a widower living alone and this mid-size food processor is just right for my needs. When my previous 25 year old processor destroyed itself because of poor blade attachment (subsequently recalled), I shopped for a replacement with a simpler & up-to-date design. The Pro Classic 7-Cup has a small footprint with direct-drive vertical power train, is well thought-out for use with various food types/sizes and is not difficult to clean. Cuisinart quality is obvious throughout the device. I am very pleased.
Replaced our 25 year old Cuisinart (which we loved) with this classic model that is almost identical after all these years. The plastic safety interlock had cracked on the old unit. The only difference is the new version omits the plastic dough blades, apparently they found the metal blade works just as well for dough. There's also a new shorter lid/cover for smaller jobs.
Can't live without it! Just yesterday I processed a TON of zucchini!!
This is my second Pro Classic 7 Cup Food Processor (DLC-10SY). The first one lasted 40 years and the only issue was the safety lock tab on the lid broke - the motor and blades were still going strong. I figured there wasn't a better food processor, so why not go with a known winner.
I like to cook in bulk an this really helps with meal prep. The price reflects he quality which is great. This model was a compromise between price and size. I wanted this thing's larger relative but at the time it was out of my price range and the size of my apartment. I still lab to buy the larger version. I prefer batch cooking more than two recipes at a time. The amoun of liquid volume the pitcher can hold was a let down but this is my first food processor so I chalk it to I experience.
The bowl and lid snap in place easily. The feed tube is a little awkward but safe. It's a solid, powerful machine that doesn't take up too much space.
Not easy to use as previous cuisinart processors have been. Do not like! I still use the small cuisinart I bought 25 years ago and it still works great and so easy to use ….twist the top and lift up. Done! Lift up attachment…Done! Wanted a larger processor but rarely use. To complicated. Would not recommend this style.
