A compact UPS with standby topology, the CyberPower Ecologic EC850LCD provides battery backup (using simulated sine wave output) and surge protection for desktop computers, workstations, networking devices, and home entertainment systems. During power interruptions, the EC850LCD offers reliable power protection and battery backup. When the battery backup detects that the computer is off or in sleep mode, computer peripherals connected to the ECO Mode, surge protected outlets will be automatically turned off, reducing power usage and lowering energy costs (USB connection required). The multifunction LCD provides immediate, detailed information about the UPS battery and power conditions and generates alerts of potential problems before they can affect critical equipment and cause downtime. The EC850LCD comes with a three-year warranty (including coverage of batteries) and a $100,000 Connected Equipment Guarantee.

We like the Cyber power surge protectors that's all we have brought through the years and we like them not had any problems with them.
Very well made. I really like that there is more space for the larger plugs.
I own the previous version of this model. It's worked well for me for years. I have no doubt that this one will be as good, if not better. Easy setup. My only caution, if you wall mount it - leave enough room for the plug heads to seat in the protected UPS sockets with enough room for the cables. I mounted too close to the corner and cables get tight. My fault, not the unit's.
Easy to register and the battery is replaceable. You can get it at Walmart - AJC Battery Compatible with CyberPower EC850LCD 12V 7Ah UPS Battery. I didn't include the price of the replacement because it will surely be more in 3-5 years than it is now (less than $30)
Works as expected. I don't know what old computer it would give 52 min of run time to though. For mine it gives 4-16 min of run time which is fine. 4 min when in game and 16 when web surfing. My computer is as follows so you can compare. Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz Video Card AMD Radeon R9 200 / HD 7900 Series Memory 16 GB Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
In my opinion, CyberPower and its principal competitor, APC ,should revisit their warranty terms and conditions. If you purchase a UPS made by either of these firms and the UPS fails after 30 days when you purchased it, expect that your warranty claim will be initially denied. The CyberPower EC850LCD Ecologic provides "step power" not "sine wave". "Step" is acceptable for many residential applications, but less desirable than "sine". An LCD is helpful during a power interruption to provide valuable information during these instances. Unfortunately the LCD on the CyberPower EC850LCD Ecologic does not provide that information (Watts being consumed). When the CyberPower EC850LCD Ecologic UPS fails, and it will fail, expect that CyberPower will respond to your request for warranty service in a timely manner. Also anticipate CyberPower to require you to pay for shipping to send the UPS to a CyberPower-approved location. Shipping will not be inexpensive. If you are fortunate CyberPower will provide a replacement, but do not be disappointed if your claim is rejected because "INSERT CREATIVE REASON HERE". This unit provides good surge protection and lackluster electrical power continuity. If you are considering paying Wlamart $72.01 for each of these units as I did, I suggest that you continue thinking and purchase a better unit. Lastly, I received three of the CyberPower EC850LCD Ecologic units purchased from Walmart drop shipped from Ingram Micro. Ingram Micro has a lot to learn about properly boxing these units before shipment. Ingram Micro placed three three of these into one box with two small air pillows and shipped them. Give the weight of each CyberPower EC850LCD Ecologic unit, you can imagine the condition of UPS boxes when I received them.
