Perfect for dark areas. Son drive a semi truck and uses it when unloading.
The LED's in this light are very bright. I used to use a halogen bulb head lamp to illuminate some reflective thumb tacks (Bright-Eyes) while walking through the woods. The thumb tacks lit up at about 100 yards with the old head lamp. I found that they light up at about 35 yards with the LED light. I'm very content with how far I can see with this light. I always felt that I was scaring off the wildlife anyway with the old head lamp. I still keep the old head lamp in my pocket so I can really light something up if the case arises but rarely use it. The other reason I purchased this light was so that I could have a source of light and still wear a hat. I always had to remove my hat when using the old headlamp. It was the kind that had an elastic band that went around the head. I never could get a hat to fit with the old head lamp and any wind blew it right off. Now I can keep my ears warm with this LED light. The light itself measures 1.75 x 2 inches. LED's are powered by two coin cells, each of which are a little smaller than the size of a quarter. The batteries last for roughly 5 hours. Remember to bring extra batteries along if you are going to use this light on a trip. The switch on this light is representative of a product of this cost. It requires firm pressure and takes some getting used to. The construction of this light is not bomb-proof. It could be damaged if treated roughly.
