She loves the girl hero
My daughter loves her own action figure, since she has three brothers she loves to play with them but never could because she didn't have her own girly action figure. We love the quality of the figure because we have been loyal customers to Mattel and Fisher Price for an overall time frame of 14 years now. All of our children love to play with Supergirl even the boys enjoy her. She is very well made and looks pretty cool for a girl ;) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My six year old daughter really likes this Super Girl action figure. She loves all the movable parts (knees, elbows, shoulders, hips, head, ankles) She also really likes the detail in the wavy hair, the flexible skirt, and that she comes with a cape that is easy to clip on and off. She does think it could be easy to break at the knees if she isn't careful though. The knee joints are a little wierd looking but they seem pretty durable to me. (Kids do see things differently.) With a 10 year old brother my daughter was very familiar with super heros but always complained that there were no girls.. well that is not a problem any more. We love this action figure and now she wants more. I like the message that it sends to girls that they are strong , empowered and can be the one to save the day. Will definitely be buying more from the DC Super Hero Girls line. We got the 6 inch action figure but I think next we will purchase the Barbie size dolls. My 7 year old daughter loves Supergirl and has enjoyed playing with her, BUT the cape (which is detachable) easily falls off all of the time which drives my daughter crazy! My daughter really enjoyed this Supergirl action figure. She and I both like the outfit and style, but thought it could use improvement with the cape. It won't stay on. Also, the arms and legs could benefit from smoothing them out, they look pretty bad. Other than quality, this is a great toy with a fun concept for today's girls that are into super heros and girl power. I will be buying some of these DC Super Hero Girls figures for a friend's daughter who has a birthday soon, she will definitely like them. I wish these dolls were around when I was growing up. Well if your child is into super heroes they will love this action figure! It does everything an action figure would do. It poses,sits,bends,and doesn't break easily. I am being so honest here. I received this as a review and it was in all honesty a disappointment,as far as what this 6 yr old had to say. She didn't like the doll,was bored and wanted to know what she suppose to do..the cape would not stay on. And as her uncle walked in the house,he is a DC comic collector he wanted to know what it was. She tried to explain to him but its then he said maybe for an older group,but this would go over as a collector toy rather than as child play.I agreed...I hope others who do purchase this toy the best of luck..but for my family of every age it was just not a childs toy. My daughter was very excited to have a girl super hero, but was disappointed by the lack of options this doll had. Everything is hard plastic, which limits the positions the doll can be put into -- Sitting was especially hard - she was able to stand on its own. The cape does come off, however is rather hard to put back on. I would like to see this doll with hair and clothes that are not plastic - allowing for more imaginative play.
