My family and I have 4 Dell Inspiron laptops between us and the AC adapters for all of them have given out or were ruined in some way over time (dogs, vacuum cleaners, really dumb stuff, but mostly, they just stopped working). Prices for these range up to $65 or so, which is pretty silly. This one was less than half the cost, and it worked on both mine and my daughter's machine. It's still working after a few weeks - I know that sounds strange, but my experience with Dell's adapters has obviously not been good. So far, so good. My advice is to order this from Walmart online for store pickup, as we discovered it was not on the store shelf - must have been "in the back."
My original cord finally wore out. This replacement far exceeds my expectations. It is much less bulk to drag around. I find the LED mesmerizing sometimes. The length is perfect for me to use in my home. I can plug it behind my sofa and sit at the far end without the cord being annoying. I am very glad that the Dell associate suggested this product. I do not regret this purchase.
This adapter works great with my 6 year old Dell Inspiron 1525. My battery stopped charging and I thought I needed a new battery but thought I would try a new adapter first and that was the problem. Happy with my purchase and quick delivery. My local store did not have it so I had to order it. Glad to have my laptop working again!!
This charger is perfect, I have an extended life batter on my laptop and this thing charges it in just a few hrs(2-4) if in use close to 4 if not about 1.5-2hrs. My battery life is about 5-6 hrs so im not complaining. The only complaint is that the product appeared to be an opened box possibly a return, there was plastic on the cord but not the power block, and the tamper sticker was taped shut and dirt/dust caked on the sticker and didn't smell new, however the product worked flawlessly and was free of damage or defects. Over all packaging was not new/new looking but the product worked flawlessly and still is, the product is much cheaper than any Dell store ($90+) plus shipping. worst case scenario that's what returns are for. If your looking for a cheap, VERY GOOD, fast charger for todays high demand lifestyles this is the charger you want!
If you've spent any time searching for a replacement AC adapter for your Dell, you find many such products on Amazon with mixed reviews or reports of unethical behavior (buying 5 star reviews) for off-brand products. While this one is also made in China, it does have the Dell brand and does seem to be of a higher quality than the off brand stuff you can buy for $15 on Amazon. I'd say it's worth the extra $15.
After hearing horror stories of knock off power adapters I decided to purchase the real deal. Well it proved the right choice. Absolutely zero issues w/the Dell product from the phone call to place the order, to delivery, to functioning once attached. Minor overall is it does not have a valcro strap to tie the adapter up for storage. Nothing a rubber band can't handle on my part. If you want your Dell product to run right then stay w/Dell accessories.
This is the same "factory" unit that Dell sells for about $70, not a knock-off or a "compatible" power adapter. The Walmart price is less than half of what Dell charges for the same item, and I got it the same day through "ship to store" service. It works the same as the original adapter that came with my Dell laptop. The only differences I can tell are (1) the new adapter has a grounded three-prong plug (2) the pilot light is on the connector where it plugs into the computer instead of on the adapter case, and (3) the new adapter is thinner than the original one.
This is an exact duplicate of the power supply I had, which is good because a Dell product will complain if it cannot "identify" the power cord directly. The box part of the cord is pretty clunky - always was - so it has to sit on something: it is too heavy to hang from the cord in over the edge of a table without pulling the cord out of the laptop. So this is an identical replacement of a poorly designed power cord. My Dell Laptop is running again though, which is all I wanted.
Was going to purchase this in store but it was over twice the online price and apparently they don't price match their own stuff. Was surprised how quickly it got here with standard shipping. Works as it should.
It arrived earlier than I thought it would that is always a plus. Its connected to both outlets and my computer is no longer saying "do not recognize a/c adaptertype". My computer had this message for a while and a technician was problem solving with me and determined it was not the battery for Dell computers. When I go to the icon that checks the battery life of the computer it either says its charging or fully charged. So everything is working like its supposed to. Everything works, I saved about 50- 60 bucks if I have chosen to buy from Dell directly. When my computer and internet are working I'm happy as a clam.
