1) Product is as advertised. Pro: 1) Powerful laptop that is presentable in public and not like glittery kids laptop. 2) It is powerful. Used it for couple of heavy software. They work perfect. Cons: 1) Fans are sometimes too loud. It is much more noticeable in quiet place. 2) Keys have comparatively less travel. Difficult to type fast. Overall: Worth the money.
This is a good laptop for Gaming! your not gonna get any of the newer titles to play at over 100FPS but more Like 60FPS otherwise if you're playing something like GTA 5 for somewhere around there you will be fine! i definitely recommend this laptop for gaming and video editing and other stuff!
Amazing machine. The keys on the keyboard are snappy. Fast typing. The LED backlighting has a nice nightime blacklight feel to it. I noted the timeout controls were added to the BIOS which was very handy. An con I noted, was Intel's UHD control panel that enabled gamma correction, was removed when the driver updated. I've always found contrast generally too black by default and enjoyed the adjustability. The G3's speed compares to whatever you'd want to call fast. I've played several new titles on max settings with not enough frame rate drop to lower the settings for sure. Pegged all the way. I got a good result with cooling putting the computer on my coiled up extension cord. The fans ran close to the same speed as they do on the desktop. Laying the computer flat on the table made it hot a little. The computer runs at 2.2ghz. There is a turbo that I noted was enabled in BIOS, but I haven't actually seen the computer run faster than that. There aren't any other adjustments that I know. The factory image restore has a 2017 copyright and works well. I tried it three or four times struggling to hold onto to that UHD control panel. Windows upgrade prevents any way to hold on to that driver and rolling it back doesn't get you the control panel. The model has six hyperthreaded cores. It starts fast. The mouse pad could use backlighting and the battery lasts solidly for 2 hours. The G3 is certainly a leader of the marginal utility curve. There just isn't a lot more you would need for a good gaming experience.
This is a great laptop. Was as advertised. Highly recommend for everyday use as well as for gaming. Professionals can use it in the long run. Processor and graphics card is great. Display is also not so bad as compared to other laptops in this range. You will love the blue themed backlit keyboard. I have tested GTA V , Forza Horizon 3 and PubG , all run smoothly on high graphics.
I enjoy this product very much, there is just one thing though. Not game changing, but the new driver for the gpu won't install. I've updated Windows to the latest updates and everything. Just keep getting this driver is not compatible with this version of Windows. I've looked at a lot of forms and tried their ways, still, nothing. HELP!
Able to play games like GTA 5, Arma 3 , and Fortnite with no problem, although I had to tweak the CPU settings with software called 'Throttlestop' and watch a video on what settings to change it to ( Search " how to overclock i7-8750H" on youtube). Also, It seems that I can only play demanding games with the corded charger plugged in otherwise without it plugged in i'm getting terrible frames. There is static when my headphones are plugged in which is rather annoying ( don't notice when playing games but when listening to music, yes). Battery life is pretty bad with the icon reading only 2 hours. For the price, its bearable. I'll update in a month to see what happens.
The laptop is good but has some negative For the cost it has good specs, but cost cuts had to be made somewhere to achieve that price. Okay so I have had this laptop for over 2 years and have used it for music, games, moves, multi monitor set ups and coding. It is a bit heavy and bulky, but take into account it has a GPU. Still carrying it around can be a pain. Screen - 4/5 The screen is good enough and I am satisfied with it's picture and brightness. The blue backlit keyboard is cool but not convenient, white would have been easier to see. Battery -3/5 The battery life is okay, but definitely not the best. It can last for about 6 hours of simple task not running the 1050ti. But once you power on a game you have about 1 hour and 30 minutes before you are running for the charger. Ergonomics/Looks - 3/5 All in all it is heavy and has an outdated look. Can you Cary it around to classes? yes. Could you also use it as your "desktop"? sure. But it doesn't really fit into either category. The keyboard is good and doesn't feel spongy, but the key travel is a little short. Gaming - 3/5 This laptop also gets pretty hot and doesn't have the best cooking set up. While gaming you can't really take full control of the 1050ti or the I7 inside. Sure I was able to play BO3 custom zombies on med/high setting, 60fps for about 20 minutes. But then it gets to hot and you drop to about 20. so you have to go to low settings on everything to get back and stay at 60fps. Overall - 3.25 but the cost and availability to do all things even if not well give it 4 stars.
First off i bought durning cyber monday sale. The laptop claimed to come with a gaming package of 3 games including Tome Raider...STILL WAITING. I have emailed walmart and dell they both play clueless. Laptop runs ok as long as you undervolt cpu and overclock gpu, otherwiser the cpu uses too much battery to even maintain a charge well its plugged in. Hopefully a 180w charger will fix this otherwise long gamong sessions are pointless even when plugged in.
The laptop was not as advertised. It was missing the Nvidia Geforce video card. It was also listed as a new laptop, but was a refurbished unit instead. The outside of the box was labeled with the right information and it all appeared to look correct. When looking at control panel for the display settings that is when I discovered it was missing the proper video card. And when the Walmart associate showed me that it was a refurb unit and not new as stated in the add. I think this is a Dell problem and I returned it to Walmart.
laptop is malfunctioning, ran diagnostics on Dell.com and the result is: REPLACE YOUR HARD DRIVE (SSD) This is a brand new computer, had i not run this test i would've been with this problem forever. NOW I have another problem, I live in Chile and haven't been able to get the replacement part even though Dell offers (or says it does) INTERNATIONAL warranty. So, I have a brand new computer in my drawer, good for nothing. Second, and this is also with Walmart, I never got the bundle that was advertised in this publication. Just realised when I came in to write this unFortunate review. PLEASE PROVIDE ASSISTANCE ON THESE MATTERS
