I initially saw this computer offered on QVC for $599.99 in a pkg deal that included 4 years of virus protection. I had just renewed my virus software so I wasn't in the market for that. My old computer was a dinosaur and its CPU and external speakers took up a large amount of desk space. This new computer is streamlined and gone are most of the wires I used to have to deal with. Speakers have good sound for my applications (I don't watch movies or listen to music on the computer). Only negative I've found is that the keyboard is not as typist-friendly as my old one was and there is no light that indicates the cap lock is on. I may replace the keyboard as I am tiring quickly of deleting data I've inadvertently entered in capital letters.
