I am very pleased with this laptop. It's size, weight, speed, processing power, screen size and clarity, speakers, capacity to handle many programs at once, and eternal battery length are all superb. After owning multiple Dell XPS products before, this is by far the best XPS product I have ever owned. It is the perfect size for a portable laptop. Not too big to be bulky but not too small to be inconvenient. Absolutely excellent. The battery lasts me all day. I love it.
Aside from the annoying pop up that keep asking you to review the product, after the updating Windows 10 to the latest version I know keep getting a blue screen of death saying nwifi.sys has failed. This could be because of Microsoft or the Qualcomm killer driver(which literally is a windows killer) either way I dont care. I have spent a fortune on a machine that cannot stay up for longer than 15 minutes at a time.
I have been a devoted Mac user for the last 20 years. I needed another laptop so that I could pass mine down to my wife whose elderly imac was on its last legs. I was eagerly awaiting an update to the macbook pros - heavy on the expectation and very little delivered. Then I saw the price tag and was doubly insulted by both the price and the specs they delivered with it. I then decided to switch fully in protest. Since having the wonderful XPS 13, I have been pleasantly surprised with how well it works especially the trackpad. I find I don't have mac trackpad envy since it works so well. I love using my new Windows 10 tools to teach in my classroom.
One of the best ultrabooks out there no doubt ! But with some cons - 1) Trackpad too sensitive 2) Can't open the ultrabook with one hand 3) Webcam awkwardly placed in the corner 4) Windows is full of bugs Pros :- 1) Excellent performance;One of the few laptops to use 7th generation Intel processors 2) Excellent build quality and construction 3) Great FHD display with matte finish 4) Best battery life in any laptop 5) Excellent dell support software
I am a student that uses a computer for a wide range of uses including photo editing, basic graphic design, and video streaming. I did my research before purchasing this laptop and decided to go with the latest update with the computer most people/companies in the tech industry recommend. I could not be more satisfied with my choice. The battery life is terrific, I get at least 10 hours, with consistent use in the ways aforementioned. (I have the nontouch version) The screen is vibrant and good enough for the things I use it for. Most important to me was the speed performance. Dell is not lying when they say it boots in under 10 seconds. I never had any trouble so far (been about 2 weeks) loading a program. Overall, very satisfied. I really have no complaints. Again, I am not using it for extremely powerful programs or gaming, but I feel like most people won't be. Good job Dell!
The finish of this piece is just amazing, the metal body feels great. I've gotten myself the i5-7200u, Full-HD version which packs enough power for any laptop task (I've used it for office, virtualization and programming tasks) and the Full HD screen is by far enough pixels on a 13" screen (you have to look really close to notice them). The battery life is just astounding, I usually get around 12 hours of ontime when browsing/reading documents and 6-8 hours under medium-load use. The only bad thing I could find about this ultrabook up until now is that the laptop is quite hard to open, a bit like a clam. But I got used to it.
This machine is almost perfect but I found two problems so far.. The trackpad does not work properly on Firefox or Chrome There is a weird sound sometimes ( I researched on internet and I am not the only one, is called coil whine) I hope you are trying to resolve it already Whithout this problem this machine would be perfect. Performance is not an issue but its crashing all the time .. this is the second time I am facing a problem with dell. Previously I got a land card problem with my inspiron 15 3521 and has to be replaced. And now I bought a new XPS13 which is crashing 30 times a day. This is too worse.
Experience is ruined by constant pop-up messages asking me to you about my experience. It's annoying and counter-productive for me since it blocks part of my tool bar. I have had to stop what I am doing and manually close it almost 2 dozens times. And, there is no button to disable it. Absolutely appalling!
When I received this product it would not even switch on, fresh out of the box. No life at all. I have now received a replacement from the retailer. How can a manufacturer have such lax quality control to allow an item to be shipped that cannot even be switched on?!
