Have used this skillet to fry chicken. It did a superb job. Am sure it will deep fry well also as the heat base is so even.
This fry meets all our expectations and then some. It can be used for deep frying some cookies too. The only problem we had is with the instructions on cleaning - it says to lift the pan out - doesn't say to have the outlet facing you and holding the outside, gently jerk it up. Clean up really good and stores with everything inside. Looks good on the counter also. Can be used directly to serve from at the table.
I've only used this skillet once - to fry meat and then keep warm, until carrying to a pot-luck. I love the size, ease of clean-up, great look, and cool-touch exterior. (It got lots of compliments from the other guests, too.) So far - a great product at a great price!
This product would have been great, except that it was extremely inconsistent at heating. The thermostat was not sensitive enough and it would let the skillet cool way down before heating up to the desired heat setting again. I ended up returning it and getting the small Rival instead.
