My newborn wouldn't sleep by herself, and certainly wouldn't sleep on her back. We had ordered this from walmart.com a few days before she was born, and as soon as it arrived at the store, we rushed to go pick it up! At first, she didn't much care for it, but my friend suggested putting her on her side. We pulled the side supports in all the way and rolled up a receiving blanket to make it a little skinnier. The first time I put her in it on her side like this, she slept for 2.5 hours. My husband is a little sad that he doesn't get to hold her between every feeding now, but we are both getting some much needed rest because of this product. A friend also mentioned that if she had this for her son, he wouldn't have had a flat spot on his head. She had a flat positioner with the triangle supports on the side, but she'll get to borrow this one for her next baby. I can't really speak for the durability as I've only had this product for a few days. Overall, a great product.. worth the extra money compared to other sleep positioners... buy the cheap diapers this week and spend your extra $10 here!!!
Very good product. I have bought similar products and this one is the best! Keeps my baby in the spot I leave her. Looks comfortable especially with the foam material. We put a cover over it just for fashion.
I used the same sleep positioner with my older son, so I knew what to expect with it this time around. While my older son was a "wiggle-worm" when he slept, once the positioner was propertly adjusted he rarely slid down. Once he was not swaddled when he was sleeping that was not a problem at all becasue his arms kept his head above the sides. My younger son has liked this sleep positioner as well and is a very still sleeper, so again, no issue. Also, I want to mention that if you have a child who has difficulty sleeping without being held/laying in a Boppy (like my younger son) this is a great product because it gives them that secure feeling, while being safe for them to sleep in. Really helps with acid reflux and spit-up as well.
I'm a second time mommy and when I was looking for something to buy for baby's bed, this jumped out at me. There aren't many choices out there in this subject thankfully, so the choice was an easy one. I bought this and then when baby was here, we put him in it right away. He loved it and slept so well in it. It gave me a peace of mind as well, I didn't have to lose sleep worrying about whether he was breathing or not. Yes he did tend to slip down but you can't really prevent it as this has a downhill slant. Besides, by the time I noticed it was time to move him back up, it was time to feed him again so it didn't really matter. I also didn't have to swaddle the baby either which is great as it is really hot here. The two side supports work just as well. And just so you know, washing the cover of this was super easy and fast. I used Spray N Wash because spit up can stain and nothing stained at all. It's great! I highly, highly recommend this to any and all mothers!!
My son has reflux and does sleep better on this pillow. I placed it right in his bassinette. It also keeps them from rolling over and is supposed to help them breathe better.
I am a postpartum doula and babynurse. I specialize in the primary care of moms and newborns. This is the #1 product I strongly urge my new parents to buy. This really helps the new infant up to 3-4 months of age to sleep better and safer especially if they have problems with reflux or catch their first colds. Baby can use this one longer than the standard ones sold at the biggest baby store across the states.
this sleep positioner is one of the best. The baby does not really move unless he is kicking his legs very hard- very comfortable and washes easily -- great product
The product is simple and basic. I like the incline, however my baby will slide down in the middle of the night. I have to pick him up and put him back where he started. This is annoying! I've started putting a pillow at his feet to keep him from sliding too far. When you remove the sides, the velcro almost puts a hole in the fabric...cheap design. Overall I like the product. My baby likes sleeping on his belly, but I'm too nervous to leave him like this, so this product allows him to sleep on his side and feel secure in the position. I'm not sure if I'd buy this again. But, for $20 it's not bad.
This product was very helpful for my newborn. She has been having a hard time sleeping on a flat surface due to having some acid reflux and using this slight incline has helped so much! In the first few weeks she would hardly sleep at all in her bassinet, but now she can already sleep five hours in a row using this incline and she is only seven weeks old! I highly recommend this product if your baby has acid reflux or you just want them to be more secure during their sleep.
I purchased this item because my baby who recently was hospitalized because of apnea and was diagnosed with GERD. The product is wonderful with the reflux and normally when I would lay him down hw woke right up but with this he does not and he seems very confortable and sleeps better,he also has not gotten a mis shaped head. The only problem I have is him sliding down after a while,but i roll up a blanket and put at the bottom under his knees and it works, but they could put some kind of device on it to prevent sliding and the product would be 100 % perfect, it was well worth the money.
