My first game camera. It was easy to learn how to use the camera. You need to get the entire manual for it on their webb site. Juts go to game cameras and the flash cameras and then you model and the manual is right there. I would buy it again the quality is great on the pictures and it is well made.
I HAVE HAD THIS CAMERA FOR OVER A YEAR AND IT WORKS GREAT . THE BATTERYS LAST IT TAKES REALLY GOOD PICTURES EASY TO USE I LOVE IT . I HAVE 3 OTHER TYPES OF GAME CAMERA AND THIS IS BY FAR MY FAVORIT
The camera is fine, but I had rather have a 6 volt battery, instead of the D batteries, much easier to change and recharge.
Ok so here is whats up with this camera. It will take some great pictures and some crapey ones. The crapey ones are not due to anything other than issues with the camera itself; I'm not meaning its foggy, or the dew fell or anything like that. Sometimes it just plain overexposes the pictures no matter what time of day it is, or what the weather is outside. The temp gauge is not even close when it gets mildly hot; 90 degrees it will say 101. I don't find the card slot to be an issue, you just need a little bit of thought and it is easy to remove. There are a lot of missing shots where all you see is plants, so the trigger speed is a bit weak. All in all this camera is great over a baited site where the animals are drawn and stay for a while because there is a 50-50 shot that the camera will get a good pic. I own 5 different trial cameras and have tried 4 different brands and this is my second favorite. Cuddy Back is the best in my opinion. If you get the solar cell (I have a review about that) then this camera is really a good option in a baited area. I have 300 pics taken already- mostly at night and the batteries are still at 96%. The solar panel is in full sun for about 6 hours. That in my book is excellent. In other cameras, that would eat at least 50 percent of your battery life.
I really like the picture clarity and the night pictures show a much greater distance the my previous cameras! It's new so I'm not sure abut the 150 - day battery life claim. I don't much care for the battery and SD card access. Replacing batteries requires you to move the camera by tilting it sideways to get them to slide out. The SD card goes in ok but takes some experience to remove; I have very small hands for a guy, those with large hands will cuss at it alot, I'm sure. Also the battery door is a PIA in that you must hold it up while inserting or removeing batteries. A sun screen over the lens would also be helpful.
Only problem that I have with the camera is that the location of the SD Card is a bit difficult to get to. The pics are good. I bought more expensive cameras and returned them because the pics weren't clear. I am happy with the camera.
I bought this camera to use for bear hunting. It has worked very well. The only thing that i have found is in some pictures they are almost white. It doesn't happen often at all. We have a more expensive camera and it doesn't work as well as this one does. As for the flash it is suppost to be bright it is a 50 ft flash. Having the date and time is very important for bear hunting. Nice camera we built a metal box for it so the bear will not eat it. Works great.
Would not recommend! If you purchase a game camera i suggest one of the newer Infrared ones. The flash on this thing can be seen a mile away scaring the animals from there normal patterns and making it easy to spot for a thief. The time stamp on this camera does not stay on time. Camera took many many pictures and videos of NOTHING! I can only attribute it to the possibility of a bird flying by. The only decent pictures I got out of this were of myself setting it up and taking it down. Huge disapointment. Picture quality was good though.
I own a Moultrie I40 and have been happy with it and decided to give the M40 a try in an attempt to capture more color pics. I only used this camera 24hrs before returning it for a refund. The day time pics were acceptable, however the night pics were really over exposed and after 15 night pics the flash went out. I guess there is a reason that Moultrie dropped these cameras from thier 2009 line up. If you want a Moultrie get the I40.
