As developed, produced and originally aired by The Discovery Channel, the reality series Dirty Jobs premiered in 2003. Episodes find host Mike Rowe venturing around the world and trying out the most physically filthy occupations he can locate. The 44-minute episodes (one hour with commercials) feature between one and three uniquely-themed segments each. Entitled "Something Fishy," this particular collection presents four complete episodes with at least one segment per related to the theme of seafood. In Vexcon, Mike fishes for Maryland blue crabs in Chesapeake Bay, using chicken necks, then joins Vexcon Pest Control to rid a home of roaches. In Shrimper, Mike learns the basics of shrimping, then sets sail for his first catch, and nets more than he bargained for. In Snake Researcher, Mike begins by packing boxes, learns to trap and collect lobsters, and witnesses methods of protecting Lake Erie water snakes. Finally, in {#Floating Fish Factory, Mike takes a journey aboard a fish processing vessel, where he bleeds and guts the fish he catches, and suffers from overwhelming seasickness.
