I purchased this for my grandaughter. She loves it and we took lots of fun movies Christmas Day. You will love it.
I purchased this for my 8 year old son and he loves it. You do need to by the memory card if you want to use it. The built in memory only does a couple of minutes. picture is very fuzzy.
It's smaller than what I thought it would be but it was perfect for my 7 year old. She absolutely loves it!!! It's her own video camera and it was well worth the money spent!
I saw this product briefly on Tech Now and thought it might be just the think for taking photos and videos at an upcoming wedding. I ordered it from WalMart.com and it arrived the next week as expected. The unit itself is very compact, fits well in one hand. It runs on 2 AA batteries and has 64 Mb of built-in memory and a slot for a SD flashcard of up to 2 Gb. With the 2 Gb flashcard, it can take 75 minutes of video and 11,000 photos. But if a flashcard is installed, you do not have access to the 64 Mb of built-in memory. The display is rather small and best viewed in subdued lighting. Unfortunately under subdued lighting, the camera does not take good photos. The best photos come in bright light, but under those circumstances, you can not see the display! It appears that there is image stabilization built into the unit - a surprise. There is no flash for photos and the lens is fixed focus, so some photos will be blurry. There is a 4x digital zoom. At high zoom, the image quality deterioates. You can adjust the output sound in 3 levels. This also affects the beeps the unit makes when taking photos or starting recording. At the lowest level, the unit is completely quiet. The unit takes about 3 to 5 seconds to start up. All photos and video you take can be selected from a thumbnail display. At this point you can choose to delete single photos or videos. Images are stored as jpeg and videos as avi - compatible common formats. Batteries can be alkaline or rechangable and battery life seems very good. When viewing photos, the zoom control will magnify the selected image. Overall, the photo quality is just fair, but expected for this priced unit. There is a video output connection that you can hook up to your TV. The accompanying software has drivers for XP. When you put the unit in the display mode and plug in the usb cable, the unit's flashcard appears as a disk drive. In this mode, you can download your images. There are other features of the software that I have not tried. But you can take a photo from your PC and your monitor becomes the viewfinder. If image quality is your prime importance, this is NOT the product to buy. If you want something small and convenient, then this may serve your needs.
The stand with the camcorder broke within 30 minutes of opening the box. The videos were dark and hard to see detail. The pictures were grainy. The product was returned.
i wont recommend this product to any body the pictures was blank, returned to store.
For the price it was not worth it, it looked like something you would get out of a happy meal. I took it back and got my son a basic sony camcorder. He loves it.
