This is a really cool car! My 4.5 year old son is a huge Cars fan and we have a lot of Lightning McQueen cars but this one is definitely his favorite. The sound and color effects are really awesome - not too loud or bright. I really love the blue light up bolt and it's been a lot of fun to see in the dark. Also, the car is very sturdy as it's fallen off many sofa and coffee table cliffs and gotten into many crashes with other toys and still works perfectly. Overall, I would definitely recommend Lightning McQueen as it's really fun car and we have all enjoyed playing with it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
While there are many Lighting Mcqueen toys out there I think this one is set above the rest. It is a little different with the wintery theme on the car. The winter decals are a nice touch they seem high quality. The lighting bolt lights up nice and bright. The fact that it talks is a wonderful feature. He says a lot of phrases and some new and some old ones that the kids will already know. My son really likes this toy. I hoping they come out with an RC version soon. I have a 4yrs old son who really into Lighting McQueen that can be a little rough with his toys. But these product very well made ,sturdy, excellent quality, My son truly loves how the car lights up and of course he loves to reapeat the saying from the Lighting Mcqueen Car.. My son is 3, and absolutely LOVES this Lightning McQueen. He has a smaller one (think Hot Wheels size) that he carried around everywhere but this one has taken its place. He plays with it every day and loves the lights and phrases he gets when he presses the button on top. I love this toy for a few different reasons: 1) The size is perfect for a small child. It is big but not too big. 2) It has already been crashed into the walls and dropped a few times, like toddlers do, and it has held up and works and sounds and looks just like it did when he first got it a couple of weeks ago. Trust me, that is no small feat. 3) The lights keep him engaged and the phrases actually sound like Lightning's voice. 4) It rolls and pushes well, and when pushed it does drift a little instead of flipping over like a lot of toy cars do. Happy Aunt!! Nephew loves his new toy!
My son is a huge Cars fan! So we have tons of Pixar/Mattel Cars and this is definitely one of his favorites. It's a nice size about 8 1/2" long and just over 3 1/2" wide. The plastic is sturdy and holding up very well to being smashed into a variety of things, so far no chips, broken parts or even scratches! The colors are all vibrant and grabs the kids' attention. The lightning bolt on the side of the car lights up, and I was very pleased that it's so obvious and bright and not just a dim flicker like several other toys he has. I love that the sounds are mostly motor noises with a few short phrases interspersed, which allows for lots of imaginative races around the house! Now about the only real con that I can come up with is the decals are just stickers, which wouldn't be an issue but ours came with air bubbles in the lightning bolts and I am wondering how well they will hold up, but it doesn't take away from the play. Otherwise this is an awesome toy and has kept my son and his daycare friends entertained since it's arrival and is obviously a new favorite. My 3 year old son loves this toy! He is a big fan of Cars and Lightning McQueen, so he was excited to get this new version. The lights and sounds are great. There is not an off switch, but the sounds are short and not too loud. The toy is simple to use, so he can do it by himself. It rolls very well and is a great size. I also enjoyed that the toy was easy to open. Toddlers are not patient and I was able to get the toy out of the box and ready to use (batteries are included!) in seconds. My 3 year old is loving this Lightning. The sides and back of the car light up in bright flashing blue. He loves going through the sounds (and there are a ton). Most are the real lightning voice and others are sound effects. We have wood and tile and this flies on the floor. The only downside (and why I only gave it 4 stars) is that you have to push Lightning to get him to move. My kiddo kept trying to pull back to "wind" him up but he has to give him a good push. The size is perfect, not too big and far from small. For a child that likes Lightning and enjoys car lights and sounds this one will be a hit! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
