was very upset at how it was delivered...it was not wrapped and was just sitting on my porch. came home with daughter and it was there just sitting on my porch...my daughter seen it. it was very hard for me to explain that this was not for her...she cried for days.
My daughter is almost three, and she loves this castle. It is taller than she is, and keeps her entertained for a long time. Her favorite things are the moving parts and sounds, and I can't wait until she's a little older and can really recreate scenes from the movies. I am terrible at assembling things, and even I managed to put this together : ) Plus the castle is big enough so more than one child can play at a time, with no sharing issues. I'd definitely recommend this castle.
I bought this castle for my daughters birthday - she loves princess. Worth the price because she plays with it all the time! Its a great place for her to play with all her princess dolls. The castle was easy to put together and looks so pretty in her room. Her favorite part is the glass slipper on the staircase. I would definitely recommend this to any other little princesses!
i do have to say that thanksgiving morning like any other child she was flipping through the flyers and circles everything..lol i askes if santa could bring her one toy what would it be and the disney princess castle won cant wait to see her face christmas morning...thank you for making the purchase through walmart.com so easy it took some of the edge off holiday shopping....virginia
First of all, my daughter LOVES the Castle. She loves the idea of a castle, loves stairs, loves the doll house aspect and loves the sounds it makes. There is no denying this. It is also pretty with vibrant pink and purple colors, detailed little hearts on all the peaks, etc. However, it is overpriced JUNK! Many of the accessories fall apart very easily. Since I will not need to repackage them any time soon we are going to see if some super glue can help keep them together. The towel rack, Tiana's table and Aurora's bed are the three main things that have fallen apart. The lift for Jasmine is messed up on ours. I opted not to take it back once I had all 200+ parts out of the box and realized I was never getting them back in. I might be able to fix it with some glue and a clamp (part of the castle itself sticks out so that the lift gets stuck... I can maneuver it but my three year old does not grasp this). The BIGGEST disappointment and frustration for my daughter is that the stairs keep coming apart. I understand that I put this together myself so maybe I just didn't snap them in enough but I had my husband "repair" them and they have since fallen apart again. Also, I did not realize many of the pieces do not snap into the castle itself. For example, Aurora's closet comes out. So if your child tries to open the door the whole thing comes out. This frustrated my daughter at first but she is used to it now. Now she just gets mad when the stove falls over, the closet door pops off and when the stand on top snapped apart. The stand for the stairs also hasn't stayed on at all. I don't recommend even bothering to put those on until your little one is older and can be gentle with it (so... maybe never?). The vanity/chair, bathtub and Belle's accessories all seem to be pretty sturdy and something my daughter enjoys playing with. The biggest thing I don't understand is why Aurora's bed barely fits on the castle? It has to be shoved in at a weird angle and then if it moves slightly, the end is falling over the edge. Seems like there could have been a slightly better design for her room. Had I paid full price for this product I would have been ANGRY! Fortunately we got a good deal on this. I don't think it was worth even what we paid for it but since I have taken away a few accessories my daughter has found much more enjoyment from it! I would not recommend purchasing this item until improvements are made or the price drops drastically!!!
Got this on clearance for my daughters 4th birthday. It is really cute, Toilet makes bubble noises and doorbell rings and when you make a princess dance it plays a little music. But I got it half price, and that is more then enough to pay for this house. I would be very disappointed if I would have paid full price. It is plastic so a little flimsy, not sure how long the stairs will hold up, but the magic carpet elevator is the worst. I can see that breaking in no time. The pieces that come with it though are very cute, like the Beauty and Beast tea set, and Tiana's kitchen and dishes. Ariel's bath tub is flimsy too and the shower hose does not stay put. I ended up taking crazy glue to all the furniture pieces and the towel bar to make them stay together. It is darling though, everything a little girl could want, just wish it was a little more sturdy, and the second level had a bit more room, bed shown does not fit, unless it is on one of the steps.
I am not exactly happy with this purchase. It's somewhat expensive and I was able to find it cheaper at other stores. The next issue was its not as elegant as I anticipated. The features on the box are much more elaborate than what's in the box. I purchased the item for my child as a Christmas gift however there are many small parts that can be easily lost or misplaced. It needs a storage container behind the steps or somewhere so when the child is finished playing with it all of the small pieces can be placed together until the next time.
We purchased this for my poor daughter for her recent 3rd birthday. I would return it but she is too little to understand why and we also got rid of the box! Took 2 hours to assemble. Now I have to watch her get frustrated when as the other reviewers have stated the horribly made "furniture" pops apart constantly. I am most upset by my little girl feeling incompetent while she is playing with this castle. Sleeping Beauty's bed does not fit on the second floor, the legs hang off so it falls non-stop. Cinderella's staircase is a joke and along with Jasmine's magic carpet can't be operated smoothly even by a 38 year old mom. It does not fold up as it leads you to believe as it has hinges. A child cannot play with Tiana's kitchen without bumping her head on the second floor of the castle. Stickered walls looked like they would pop off while I was assembling it. The flooring of each room is patterned so that the flimsy furniture topples over as it doesn't have a smooth surface to stand on. In short I think this product should be discontinued immediately. I can honestly say that this is the most disappointing purchase I have ever made. DO NOT TO BUY THIS PRODUCT. Loving Family Dollhouse which she also has is a great purchase, very sturdy, folds up. Purchased it at Walmart for $38, she is very happy with it but when she saw the princess one she had to have it. Spare your child and yourself this grief. I had to give it a star to submit the review, I hadn't planned on that.
My daughter really wanted this for Christmas because it looked so nice on the commercial. What a disappointment! None of the pieces actually fit together. The curved staircase has notches that don't line up with the railing so we don't even bother with it. All of the furniture is in several pieces and when you move a chair the legs fall off. Sleeping Beauty's bed is too large to fit in the little room so it hangs out over the side. I buy a lot of toys from Disney and the quality of this is just so poor compared to others. My daughter had a friend over to play and she warned the friend not to touch the castle because Santa messed up when he made it and it falls apart. It will collect dust for now and end up in yard sale come summer.
My daughter asked Santa for this princess castle. She was so excited when she opened the box and daddy assembled it. Now whenever she tries to play with it, it falls apart. The spiral staircase is a disaster and the furniture is too small to hold the princess dolls. After a week of it coming apart and asking me to fix this or that, she has lost interest. So I basically just bought a $145.00 dust collector. I am very unhappy with the "cheap" materials and overall poor quality of this product. I would not recommend it to anyone.
