Hi. I don't use it for a tailbone injury anymore, but it sure does work well as a lower back support pillow for watching TV -- or taking with you to a sporting event, picnic, or emergency bedding for you car...you get the jist!!! :) Dee
After surgery sitting was impossible. The pain was so bad all I could do was lay down. Then we purchase this pillow as a last resort. It worked wonderful. The pillows that we purchased at the drug stores just didn't work. This foam pillow was the one.
Absolutely wonderful for wheelchairs or desk chairs. You won't feel the need to continually shift. Really comfortable. And you won't get that " sitting too long " numbness at the bottom area. Also good for folks who are in bed a lot, takes the pressure off of the mid area of the buttocks / spine.. will help eliminate bed sores in this area.
This is actually the second of these I have purchased and I think they are great. I put a piece of that non slip stuff under them and it couldn't be better. I take this cushion to restaurants with me as sitting in a hard chair is impossible . Perfect solution. Now I have one for the make-up table stool and one for dining room that can go with me when I feel the need to take a cushion along. Worth it's weight in gold !!!
I have very bad spine arthritis and it's very difficult to sit for any length of time. I find that a ring cushion works better than a full cushion. Having the hole in the center actually lends support to the back while easing the pain of sitting on a hard surface.
My first pillow was alot softer. I was in 4th grade. I am 66 now. I have tried several other pillows, and they were as hard as a rock. Who approves these things for consumers with a really sore tailbone? This is a bit firm but doable. I do not use it except in my cargivers car. I believe it will soften with steady use. I recommend it.
Well, I bought this cushion to make it more comfortable to sit 9 hours at work, but the hole make it feel not very comfortable because you feel like you are sitting on the toilet and some hemorrhoids just get out instead of be where it supposed to be. Well, I like the fact that it's covered with fabrics that is removable (polyester/cotton) and sometimes yo can sit on it but with your butt on the ring, not on the hole - then it's much better - since ring is soft that comfort your butt. Overall, it didn't help me with the purpose I bought it for, but it may help you. Good quality product, but I would say the ring became a little bit to much soft when you sit on the cushion for a while.
bought this fory husband who needs a cushion after a long hospital stay. its perfect for cushioning the tailbone and a sore he had developed. it also helps him get up out of a chair or sofa easier than a flat one. it is firm, but very supportive
The cushion was just to large for me and a little stiff. If you need a big size cushion this is the one to get. I returned it to my local Walmart store and will order the smaller 15".
I order this foam contoured ring cushion for my husband who just had 2 large surgeries. I am returning it because it is hard. I ordered the 16'' cushion which seem to small I didn't take it out of the plastic cover because of returning it. I was looking for something soft to make it more comfortable for him to sit.
