My machine has no dispenser for fabric softner. I use a Downey Ball to dispense softener so I do not have to come back to meet the rinse cycle! Easy peasy my clothes are soft, smell good and breezy!

I used these in the early 2000's when I didn't have a built in fabric softener dispenser. I've since moved into an a apartment that doesn't have it in the washer. I searched high and low for this item, and Walmart delievred! I now use it for fabric softener and laundry sanitizer. It's a game changer!
My new washer (didn't realize before buying it) has no softener dispenser and it locks the door as soon the cycle starts, so this was the only option. I'm glad I found in Walmart because I couldn't find it anywhere. It works fine mostly of the time, only failed in one delicate cycle
I don't always have the time to wait to add the fabric softener so this is a godsend. It enables me to continue other things while clothes are washing without having to run to catch the final rinse. Highly recommend.
I wanted to try the laundry sanitizer but i didnt know until after i got it that it is supposed to be added during the rinse cycle (because I will never remember to actually do that). I have an older model washer so I don't have a fabric softener dispenser to add it too like it says. So I decided to get another one of these and use it for the sanitizer just like with the softener. I had no issue it worked just like it was supposed too.
My mom had one when I was a teenager and we still use it to this day. It works great we never had a problem with it. It's durable and won't break. It does its job it will open up and the fabric softener will come out when the washer goes on its spinning cycle.
One thing that I will say I didn't really like was the fact that these are very rare and hard to find these days. So I had to have mine online bought and shipped to the house. It seems to be a good product so far however whenever I use it there's always liquid left in the ball and I'm not sure if that's okay I don't know if it's just water getting in there but it's confusing in the packaging did not say anything about that. So.
