[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Downy has quite a few claims regarding the benefits: Softens, freshens, reduces wrinkles, reduces fuzz and pills, prevents static, keeps colors bright. On some it is hard to tell if makes a substantial difference but it seems to work. I washed a sweater recently that previously came back from the cleaners a touch faded and a little pilly. The next time I washed it myself and used Downy. It looked good after the wash. I was afraid it would further fade or pill more but it did not and if anything looked a little better. In general, the reduced static and fresh scent are very noticeable benefits. While hard to tell if there are less wrinkles, and reduced fuzz and pills, I am not noticing wrinkles and fuzz/pilling problems so it is difficult to argue that it does not work. For the more obvious benefits alone it is worth it. A little goes a long was as opposed to some of the cheaper fabric softeners out there and if you get some of the other benefits over time it is an added bonus.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I will start off by saying I have sensitive skin and I don't like to use fabric conditioner or softener. What I can say is that I have not had any breakouts and I have been using this product for about a week now on multiple items I've worn. The scent I have is April fresh, I'm not sure what April fresh would smell like but to give you a idea it smells like powder deodorant a pleasant smell overall. Even after a week my item still have a fragrance to them and my closet and dressers even smell of the fragrance which I think is an added bonus. I would definitely recommend Ultra Downy to any of my friends or family.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I instantly felt like my clothes were transformed from first use. I really enjoy a lingering scent on my clothing after washing them. I have used lots of products and nothing delivers like Downy April Fresh. It is truly more than a fabric softener. I do believe it protects my clothing, softens it and makes it smell incredibly good. So easy to use, no mess at all. I love it and this is a staple in my laundry routine.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't used to be a fabric softener user. Once I spend a whole day running loads of laundry with fabric softener, I can honestly say I'll probably never go back. With small children I do laundry every day. Sometimes clothes come out dry and stiff and the color fades fast sometimes sometimes my clothes were dry and staff or the color faded too fast. I have now found that with using downy fabric softener, my clothes are not only softer when I take them out, but the color is fading a lot less. I also enjoy the fresh scent The fabric softener leaves behind on my clothes. When I washed my sheets for my bed, it was so wonderful laying down and having them smell so fresh. I will never go back to not using fabric softener again. This is a life-changing move
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are dozens of brands of fabric softener out there to chose from. But Ultra Downy April Fresh is the best. The smell is clean and lasts for weeks after washing. You don't have to use very much in order to see the benefits of using Downy over other brands. There is never any stiff fabric feeling and my dress shirts are less staticky than when using other fabric softener. I love how my clothes smell and feel fresh out of the dryer when I include Downy April Fresh in my washing routine
Passed down from generation to generation. I can't remember the first scent that Downy made before. If it's April Fresh or Sunrise Fresh? I remember my grandmother always buy the sunrise fresh. I also like their "antibac". I mixed this fabric conditioner with white vinegar to soften my laundries.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow!!! I absolutely love love this fabric softener. It left my clothes so extra soft! Let me tell you about the snell, it is FABULOUS! It has lasted on my clothes going on 4 weeks!! Yes I said FOUR WEEKS! It reminds me just like the name, as if I were in a field of flowers after a morning rain. I'm not joking, I will NEVER go back to my previous softener. My clothes came out so soft that even my jeans were softer. I have recommended Downey April soft to all my friends and family. You won't be disappointed, I can promise that!! I loved it so much I washed ALL my blankets in it, even though they were already clean!!
This Softener is Good. I am appreciative that Walmart most of the time a good Price. When you are 70yrs old. %26 retired, it is very appreciative on the low affordable price.
Mother in law keeps buying this for us, she doesn't like dryer sheets (she doesn't live here, and hasn't even visited here in over 5 years so I don't get it but whatever) when she first got it a few years ago she warned us to make sure we dilute it with water by half, saying that it had plugged up the dispenser on her front loading washer and the repair guy said it was a common problem with this fabric softener. Guess who's fabric softener dispenser stopped working on their front loading washer about a year later? Yep, ours! And I was diluting it by a little more than half too. It's not like we have money for a repair guy to come out, or money for a new washer. My point of this review is to warn others who have a front loading washer against using this fabric softener. Just don't do it, even diluting it- it's ruined the dispenser. The whole line going down into where I can't get to is gunked up with fabric softener residue.
I don't know what you did to the original formula. Downy used to work great and smell nice. Now it gets all clumpy and clogs up the dispenser (which I clean frequently). You blame the thickening on temperature extremes. They must have happened during shipment to the grocery store. This never used to happen before, I would bet that you changed the formula to save money. Hard to believe that temperature is to blame, we have lived in the same climate for 50 years. I can't use this stuff and would like a refund.
